But, I got a bit lost. I think I found the toy but then I couldn't find any way off that platform/level?
I like the colorful sprites, and the music change upon picking up the toy was nice. I love that the monsters then vanish, implying that the toy have some kind of magical soothing power =D
Double bucket helmet is nice, OSHA approve :thumbsup:
@immortalfox Thanks for playing!
Trying to figure out what more you could add is difficult. I'm sure you have plenty of ideas, but you appear to have covered the obvious needs. You have a back-tracking puzzle, multiple pick-ups with different abilities, a changing theme song according to mood, and sound effects for basically everything. My only remaining ideas are a few different items, like a shovel or maybe a toy truck.
I also appreciated that you told a story with how the game changes when you pick up the toy. Overall, I think you did a great job.
I had to read the comments here to learn how to use the buckets, but that was my only issue.
The graphics were super nice and I like the particles when you move!
@vidarn Thank you for playing and the feedback. I might have to add another gif to hint at the gameplay :smiley:
@sviborg Thanks for playing!
- Having a sprint key doesn't feel necessary because there is no penalty to sprinting.
- I like the music change when you grab the toy. I read through the comments to understand I can place my buckets.
- Game has some enjoyable polish in a decent number of places.
Overall nice!
I don't know why but the first part had something unsetteling with the one hit monsters/fears. Was very happy when the tables finally turned
@clare-chan1738 Thanks for playing!
@cluster7ck Hey, thanks for playing. I'm glad to hear it made you feel these emotions!
@alex-davies Thanks for playing! Yeah, it is not too clear from the start. Especially if the game would have more props it would get tricky to distinguish. Something to think about for sure.
I like the take on vertical movement, sort of a Dwarf Fortress-style "slicing". The game
felt super short, though! I would have loved to see more content/puzzles/whatever, but maybe that's just because
I cheated myself out of figuring out the main puzzle :P.
But what's here is good, especially for 48h. Congrats!
The idea of switching between segment looks fresh.
I checked some comments and if there was levels of height between segments - I did not get it to be honest.
As some of player I got few golden buckets and the toy and was unable to leave the platform.
Anyway, you did well in such a time restriction! Good luck with your further development!
@mikeliosus Thanks for playing and feedback. Yeah, the height difference is not clear enough in its current state.
@kaba Thank you for playing. I think what you are describing is something that I hoped in some extent. I wanted include a sense of exploration.
@littlegamer Thanks for playing, I do agree with you!
@untitled-studios Thanks for playing! Yeah, gameplay ended up being kind of weird due very rigid execution of the main mechanic. Alas, that's how it goes sometimes.
