Cursor Descend by FoxEcho
Are you a master of the mouse? Then you've come to the right place.

In Cursor Descend, you will guide a tiny needle-like cursor on a journey — starting from the mouth, descending deep through the body, and finally escaping through a mysterious exit. Precision is everything, and your only tool is the cursor.
This game was made for the Ludum Dare Jam #57. And this is my very first jam game!
I hope playing it is just as fun as it was to create:)
Gameplay and controls:
Hold left mouse button to move. Hold spacebar to speed up. Scroll the mouse wheel to rotate your direction.
The camera scrolls downward automatically—you'll need to keep your cursor on the path.
At the end of your run, your final score is calculated based on:
The total distance traveled
How long you held the left mouse button during your final streak
And your “scroll wheel heat”
Update:
Update - Apr 12, 2025
🖱️ Mouse control got an upgrade! The cursor now stays locked inside the game window during gameplay.
🩸 Blood particles are back! They now show up properly in the Web version.

Cool game, really nice visuals!
Theme is also on point. Well done!
Congrats on your first jam game :D
I enjoyed the game's gameplay, its adherence to the theme, and its little finishing touch ;-)
Graphically, however, I found it a bit lacking.
In the end, it's a success, I think :-)
I can go fully out of bounds on most places, and if I flick the mouse I can skip sections if I end my mouse movement on a white area. Fun idea, sounds are nice, my ending screens were a bit scrambled but I guess the bugs are a bit inconsistent. good work tho.
Really appreciate your time and thoughtful feedback!
OMG i'm so sad, I lost because of a sneeze :'(((
My trackpad is quite bad + I already have chronic tendonitis lmao, so I did not get past the small intestine.
BUT the concept is super cool, and the game is simple but very efficient!! Nice one
And honestly, I should’ve put a disclaimer at the start: "Warning: bad for your tendons."
That said, I understand that requiring players to hold the button the whole time might feel uncomfortable. And I really appreciate you taking the time to play and share your thoughts.:)
And yes you are spot on, the game was actually originally designed with the opposite setup—pressing the key to slow down. But just as you said then many players simply wouldn’t use it. Since I wanted players to keep their left hand on the keyboard (forgive me 😅), I made the decision to switch.
That said, I think it definately could be improved with better level design and some tweaks to the mechanic.
well done!
Mouse shouldn’t escape the window anymore.
Blood particles now actually show up on Web (oops).
Sorry about the issues — it should feel a bit better now. Give it another go and let me know what you think!
I think the difficulty was balanced enough.
The different speed sections was a nice touch.
The rotation was not needed in my run. It would be cool, if there was an indicator when you are close of being out of bounds.
Nice interpretation of this years Ludum Dare theme. :)
The PLOFT sound at the end of the path made me feel like a real poop.
The mouse movement is a bit choppy, but for a game made in 3 days it's very good.
Congratulations!
