Very very nice experience! Chilling music is the best part! Space is always a nice topic to make a game about. A little bit dull because of lack content, but I jumped from a sudden suck into the black hole.

@immortalfox Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm really glad you liked it! I'd love to make more content, but since this is my first game overall, and I don't have enough experience to make everything quickly, unfortunately, I couldn't manage to get everything done in time :)

Nice feeling of depths in the space. To me depth is some place that you start to lose your hope of return. I did something about the space too but I tried to learn a new engine (love2d) and make the game, so couldn't do much of what I planned. Way less poslihed than this. Good job overall, liked it.

Good drawing and cozy music. I would like maybe a little more different effects, but it turned out well enough.

Very nice player feedback, visuals, music. Just a great chill little experience. Only thing I didn't love was the black hole gameplay mechanic (they looked cool though!), because generally by the time I noticed I was close to one it was already too late. Maybe would have been more fitting (albeit less realistic) to have the black hole simply spit you out at a different, connected black hole instead of being a lose state! Obviously this is very simple, but it's clear you put a lot of time into polishing the experience, and I appreciated that a lot as a player.

Nice vfx and filter, wouldn't say recoil is a bad thing and should be reduced, if sucked into a hole, recoil can help. don't know how far radar is pointing, but never made it to reach, hit the hole and died.

It has much potential, but inability to shoot meteors and ores without getting slowed at the beginning, and not being able to shoot backwards to go faster with addition to me getting easily killed by a black hole three times :D made me feel the game is slow and not fun because of that. With a little bit further polishing the overall would be pretty cool!

Like particles effects and shots physics in this game. For me, it was a little frustrating in camera movement(if i move in one direction, my starship was in screen corner) and in black hole physics(rock spawns between me and hole, and i physically cannot move away hole, gravity was bigger then my ship movement). But at all, nice first game, congrats.

Love the music, really brings some meditative vibe!

If this is your first compo, it's great result. You managed to get core gameplay loop, create art, add nice visual effects (love particles around black holes!), animation for the ship, recoil mechanic and the whole upgrade system , that's a lot!

LD is a lot about focus and prioritization (you might've seen I am not great at it myself haha) but what I would've done different is focusing on polishing the main gameplay loop such as ship control, obstacles + enemies, etc. and secondary on upgrades (only if time left). Upgrades without decent core gameplay don't make much sense, even if it is neatly done.

Congratulations with a decent result anyway, waiting to see your games for the next LDs!

@iovorobiev Thank you so much for such a big and thoughtful review. I'm really interested in hearing your opinion, and I'm grateful for your comments — reading them gives me a chance to improve and take things into account for my future projects. (And about your game — I genuinely enjoyed it, and was pleasantly surprised that you noticed and played mine too :) )

I agree with most of the things others have said, but I did want to mention that a lot of the little effects worked really well, like the asteroids exploding and shaking the screen a little, the look and feel of the black holes, etc.

There are upgrades, but they don’t really feel necessary. Black holes are just unfair — you end up losing because they pull you in from off-screen, which doesn’t feel right. The ship’s rotation feels a bit odd too, but that’s a minor thing. I couldn’t finish the game since I kept dying to black holes I couldn’t even see. That said, I’m mostly pointing out the negatives — overall, it’s a great little game. Thanks to the music and the minimalism on screen, it creates a strong sense of loneliness, which really works.

@flinge Thank you so much for the feedback and for pointing out the flaws. I’ll try to take them into account in the future — and hopefully, my next game will be a bit better than this one :)

Fun game! I liked the graphics, audio and game loop. I think I got close to the end, I'd purchased most upgrades but then the controls bugged out and I got sucked into a black hole.

I had one bug that nearly ended the run as well where I got stuck inside a shop area after exiting. It was near a black hole. Luckily the only upgrades I deliberately didn't buy were the dampeners, so I had a little bit of extra thrust for handling black holes, managed to spam fire my way out.

Great compo entry, thanks for making!

@liam Thank you so much for such a detailed review and for playing my game! I'm really happy that you enjoyed it. Right now, I'm working on a sequel — fixing the issues people pointed out and adding new features to make the game even more interesting. And since there's no time limit this time, I hope it will turn out to be a really good game :)
