Waning Moon by duskpn

made by duskpn for LD33 (JAM)
Waning Moon is an action game where you must fight your way through a village cursed with werewolves.

As you get damaged fighting the horde of wolves, you slowly succumb to the curse yourself, getting more powerful, but also closer to death!

This is my third LD game and second with my girlfriend Bia as artist! Made using Unity 5.

Some of the cleanest art I've seen so far. The engine itself is nice as well, with some more polish and more content it could be a solid game.

Was hoping to be able to turn into wolf and start eating villagers.

Very cool, good use of theme! Wish there was more, the game ended just as I got the wolf form.

Was really fun to play. I was pleasantly surprised with the slowly turning into werewolf, was afraid the theme wasn't going to be included. Great job!

Nice graphics! Slightly faster action/gameplay with maybe a run button would have been nice. I would also like to be able to play as a completely turned werewolf after failure and massacre the villages instead of trying to save them :)

Wow, the visuals are just amazing, well done Bia! :)
The idea for the game is also great, turning into a werewolve yourself and the villagers turning when they die, pretty damn cool. The gameplay is smooth, but I ended up with a little too many werewolves to handle by just using blocking, so I attacked and moved back a little when they attacked, which worked a little too well. Speaking of blocking: Please provide some alternative controls next time around, the combination of x and z on a qwertz keyboard layout is just painful.
One small thing I noticed: When scrolling the screen, the main characters sprite stuttered a little bit.
Overall, I enjoyed this game a whole lot, well done!

Cool take on the theme, wasn't sure if you were exactly nailing it until I saw my character changing features. Also, those animations were really cool, and the combat felt tight and satisfying.

That was a really solid entry. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a different ending if you managed to stay human vs turn werewolf, but it was fun either way. Solid graphics and audio, well balanced game on the whole.

Fun game and nice graphics. the only problem i have with this game is the super fast movement speed. Good luck with your future games

Man, those villagers were awesome. They practically didn't need me!

Very smooth and played nice. Sort of repetitive, but overall good. There seems to be a problem with the Z ordering of the layers though. If I stood above a villager, my legs wouldn't be visible, but my torso would be drawn on top of them.

Turning into a monster the more damage you took was a nice touch!

Wow nice one - the progression from village hero to … something else was unexpected. But when it started I began looking forward to how far you can progress down that path.
