Vicit Vim Virtus by Jod
Vicit Vim Virtus
Courage triumphs over violence
Made in 24 hours, because who needs the full 48*?
Be a monstrous vampire and decide on the fate of the 1st level adventurers that come to your lair. Will you let yourself be 'defeated' and send them on their way? Or will you deem them unworthy and send them packing? Or will you give in to your monstrous nature and drink their blood?
Have fun!
*I did. I really, really did.

I was the monster and killed the adventurers. :P
I also got puppies and kittens, not disappointed at all of this entry.
10/10 would click on the kitten link again
I may have found a bug: in the second chapter, the game said "a killing so soon after another", but I had not killed the first adventurer.
Monster who can read minds determines fate of adventurers... It sounds like a metaphor.
@pavel_insight: Not necessarily meant as a metaphor, but I'm pretty sure the 'You are the monster' lends itself well to it. Was there a metaphor you saw coming through as you played?
This may be biased, as I am a sucker for choose-your-own-adventure. I think you could easily make this into a full game that rivals text adventures like Wizard's Choice.
I want to go back through and play a few more paths -- it would be nice if the decisions had a bit more weight to them for you OR if there were more backstory so that the affairs of the town were something I cared about more.
And now onto the bitter part. :) Aside from couple of typos, your one and only major flaw in this game is that goddamn shadow below the text. That is so bad I made a picture for you: http://prntscr.com/88gj7u :)
The text is very well written and the font is good, so reading the actual text is pleasant. But _that_ is an absolute no-no, please stop that. :)
And now please give me your Twitter-name or smth to follow you, I'll go create a fan club.
I think my main gripe with this twine is simply in that the tone is very personal, as if you were telling the story, but the character is supposed to be me. You speak for me through a character that isn't me and the abstraction makes it easy to understand the characters you created but difficult for me to empathize. Each path is essentially just a different story rather than a set of choices that let me express my take on the character.
Regardless, the adventure itself is complete and flows well. Congrats on the entry!
I wouldn't be able to think about a branching system like this. Really, congrats! :D
Cheers!
