KAWAII KAIJU by little_polygon

[raw]
made by little_polygon for LD33 (COMPO)
Dinosaurs. Lasers. Explosions. What more do we need?

I was interested in using a low camera-angle looking up to create a colossal feeling. It presents some unique challenges (clipping, aiming).

Tools used: Unity, Maya, BFXR, autotracker.py, Sublime Text

I had to finish early, so this is more of a sketch of a game than a finished game. Stretch goals post-compo: crowds of tiny terrified people, tanks and jets to contend with, a jump-attack, and buildings that spill delicious candy!

I love it! It'd be great to see it completed.

I just tested it, and I find the camera placement really interesting. You did a great job on the dinosaur control part, I find it pretty easy to play.
Too bad you didn't have time to finish it!

I loved the little bit I got. The controls were easy to pick up. Can't go wrong with monster destruction.

Super cool!! The animation and laser are really cute.
I saw your progress posts during the 48 hours and definitely wanted to see it after.
One suggestion I think is maybe making a small city as a target with only a few skyscrapers and just have a percentage destruction count. Small and simple objective and I will be hooked!

Beatiful cute monster haha
Unfortunately the game don't have a goal, but the concept is very nice, I could see it expanded. Good job.

PEEEEEW. Pretty funny.

Some glitches in the Linux version: I had to alt-tab for every keyboard input.

Cool little demo, worth making something further! I found the flashing white every time you attacked a little annoying, but other than that it's a solid proof of concept!
