Like (Tiny) Rabbits! by Ang Parodi

[raw]
made by Ang Parodi for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

SS4.png

Control the tiny creatures population and prevent it from reaching its limit!

They breed like rabbits, so keep them away from each other or you will have a population problem. If the population reaches its limit, you lose.

Like any other creature, they age over time and eventually die, but not before leaving behind a gold coin as a gift. Use the coins to buy upgrades to help you control their population.

Controls - Move the creatures by dragging and dropping them with the mouse.

Very cool game! I really like the art and the atmosphere!
I found the game a bit hard though, once I bought a first upgrade, the rabbits spawned too quickly and I lost.

Well done, GG!

Very cute and fun game, I restart the game severals times and enjoyed It ! I think the age accelerator is broken, because once buy, the rabit stop to grow and the game become impossible (I try the webgl version). But overall very cool and it's very impressive you made it alone !

Quite engaging! The art is cute, and I loved the attention to detail (like representing aging with mustache, brilliant ). The music also fits very well to the whole mood. The game plays well overall.

There might be a bug with the Age Accelerator. I tried two playthroughs where I bought it as a first upgrade and my creatures stopped aging at all (same happened on both tries). I stayed away from it after that. I played web version on Firefox, for reference. It can also be quite hard to click on the mating pair when the tiny guys clump close together. But I guess that by the time they are so bunched up, you're doomed anyway

I see it's your first LD - so welcome to the community. You really made something cool! I played several times, and that was my best one:

Nice little game with a good atmosphere. The theme is well implemented. I think the scaling is currently a little bit to strong but maybe its just me. Good Job!

Great game, sometimes a bit annoying that the rabbit you want to click on is in the background. Great idea, great realisation, good atmosphere, nice music.

I wish I had some time to read the info of all the upgrades but I made it to wave 11 nonetheless! My favourite part were the mustaches

@supersayafynn Thanks! Unfornately I didn't have enough time to balance the game too much.

This one's really good. I love the graphics, audio, and the game itself. It also perfectly fits in with the game. Straight 5s across the board from me. =)

Good job!

Quite the concept! It is quite unique and pretty fun to have a game where the goal is to kill creatures with time rather than with any other particular weapon.

I made the mistake of buying the aging inhibitor in my first few playthroughs, which appears to basically lose the game on the spot as the creatures stop dying. It might be worth adding a note to the description about this bug.

I found it quite difficult to actually find the time to buy upgrades as I got farther into the game. I'm not sure how much farther the extra few upgrades would have gotten me. If the aging accelerator worked I imagine it would make quite a difference, both making it possible to earn more money and making it easier to keep the creatures under control. The anti-mating impulsor and crytobiosis both seemed a bit slow and could fire when there was no real need to -- I think it might be more fun if those abilities could be fired by the player with a cooldown, to help get out of a really tough spot.

The graphics and sound are quite nice! The game feels polished besides the aging bug and it definitely made me want to give it a few tries! The farthest I got was wave 12.

@honey-pony thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked it! I uploaded a hotfix, it's a really small mistake, just a number missing.

Very hard game, but I love the approach in the (no) incremental game type. Great Job!
