Tried both the itch page and the embedded and it seems the "Lets Eat" button to launch the game is buggy. Music loop keeps playing but the menu is unresponsive for a very long time. Guessing Shader compile but my initial comment was that it was broken.

The sound effect is goofy and I really like the floating particle effect in this game. The vibe feels good and relaxing, nice game!

Your mechanism is simple but effective, and the leader board is really a good idea to encourage me replay the game for muiltiple times. The bgm and audio effects you used really helps to establish a humor tone. Great works!

@leo115 Thanks for letting me know! Based on your feedback, I did some optimization on the web build. I believe it may still not be optimal in many cases. I also produced a Windows build and a Linux build that should perform much better. Do you want to give it a try? https://jonathandavidlewis.itch.io/hamster-run

@jonathandavidlewis Much snappier! still take a moment but it's not in an unresponsive manner and I think I doubled my score from not loosing time from stepping away while waiting!

Hey, heads up. When I was playing my camera was forcing to pan up into the sky.
I also had this problem with my Godot game and I think I managed to fix it by setting my embedded resolution to an odd number.

Users can make sure they're in full screen.

@leo115 Thank you so much! This is my first 3D game, so I am learning a ton! I'm going to try to improve the loading.

I really liked the general premise of your game and how it encourages speedrunning which is one of my favorite things to do in general. The controls felt nice, the art is good and the soundtrack is fitting, maybe a bit repetitive. I like that you had different collectibles with a risk reward system and how you placed them in the level. Finally, the leaderboard is a great addition for competitiveness and I had to try a few rounds to get a good score. Nice work :)

The controls were a little hard to use at first, and my camera kept going into the ground but fun game and a nice looking world.

Pretty awesome and super simple. Great job on the 3D game for the jam - some small performance hiccups on web but nothing too major. Leaderboards are always a great way to drive engagement, good job getting those in.

Fun little speedrunning challenge! A bit shallow in terms of gameplay, but it gets the job done. The visuals are pretty nice.

Not surprised you were having performance issues with the web build, I assume due to shader compilation issues with particles. I would suggest try converting any GPU-based particles into CPU-based particles.
