Herding cats by Quag

[raw]
made by Quag for Ludum Dare 56 (JAM)

Herding cats: An idiom denoting a futile attempt to control or organize a class of entities which are inherently uncontrollable—as in the difficulty of attempting to command individual cats into a group. Want to have a go at it?

This was our first ludum dare game jam and had a blast with it. We are proud to come out with an actual game, although a bit buggy :). Please try out our game! Be careful, your cats might explode.

(Escape and restart is your best friend :))

We recommend playing this game on full screen. Careful with Crtl+W on Chrome, it might close your tab...

Use the itch.io link if you can't run it here.

 you did indeed capture a feeling of futility! Challenging and fairly fun

The art is really cute, and the gameplay is simple and fun! It’s a bit frustrating that it conflicts with Chrome’s shortcuts, but I’m amazed that so many levels were created in just one weekend. That’s incredible!

i had a bug on lvl 8 i think (the one with 2 guns ) i broke the wall and the level disapeared i think and also a button to go back or retry would have been nice

I also have issues on Firefox with shortcuts, and main menu looks a bit wrong on my screen, but! Nevertheless, the game premise and the idea is very cool. Good job. :)

Nice game. Managed to get to the end. That was a lot of levels.
Requiring the exact number to break the walls was an interesting idea the could have been explored more.
The target zone in level 14 is much smaller than the light green area indicates which made that one tricky.
It's generally best to avoid using ctrl and escape when targeting html5 as all browsers will have issues with them. I ran into the ctrl+w problem on my game too. Easy to forget.
