Our original plan was to implement auto-saving, which would allow players to enjoy the game at a slower pace. However, implementing this feature on hosting platforms like itch.io turned out to be somewhat complicated, and we eventually didn't manage to do it in time
Indeed, maybe we should provide separate upgrade options for each weapon.
Really impressed by the game.
I reached the third fishy research, but it didn't seem to start firing for a long time? Couldn't figure out to make it fire, it seems random?
Thanks for playing!
It's a close range turret, so it becomes useful when there are more enemies and they get closer
It feels super polished and has a great cohesive style.
Good gameplay, the balance feels really nice but it's a slow start waiting to build up the initial fish! Maybe a 2x speed or some balancing.
The sfx were all great and fitting, the track is cool even after looping a few times!
Although I found either the pace too slow or the fact that you can loose an issue. It cannot really be "idle" or you risk of loosing and there are times where you have to wait a lot before being able to unlock something.
So moving it one way or the other would improve the game I think !
Among the minuses - it often turns out that you sit for a long time and do nothing, while resources accumulate and some improvements are noticeably more important than others.
Overall - a great game!
My only complaint would be that it's slow to advance and you lack means to accelerate time or repair your tower... and then suddenly there is an endless line of enemies that you are not prepared to and need 5k$ to be prepared.
Still, very nice entry!
I will say that at times the balancing seems a little bit odd, since you tend to be really pressed to get to the next fishy upgrade if you upgrade anything else, but all in all it was a great jam game!

Gaming mechanics wise, it can get a bit repetitive as time goes on. I believe adding bosses and stuff could make the game juicier.
Overall a great game! Hope to see more from you later on!
Honestly, really cool game, though I wish there was at least some form of end state. Anyway, tremendous job. Cheers.
Here is my attempt:

The game's art and music have a minimalist beauty to them.
As a cat-loving player (though I’m hesitant to admit it), seeing more and more cats joining the fight was a really joyful experience.
I’m not sure how long I spent on it, but I think I finished the game (did I really finish it? At least all my upgrades seem to be maxed out).
Like many others have mentioned, the game's pacing is indeed too slow.
I guess the gameplay you intended was for the player to balance between economic growth and firepower for killing enemies, shifting cat resources between the two. However, the current enemies lack elite stages, bosses, or 'waves of zombies approaching,' so the player only needs to continuously invest in economy without worrying much about offense. If there were periodic enemy threats that posed a real danger to the player, I believe the game would be much more fun!
I think this game has great potential and plenty of room for expansion!
Looking forward to your updates!"
I really liked the art style, minimalistic and fits the game so well. Well done!

Gnorp is my top 3 games that I played this year and I spent a whole weekend completing it. I will pay money for this game on Steam and happily sacrifice another weekend for it
Like everyone mentioned before me, yes, game needs balance, especially the beginning and the last quarter.
Thank you for making it!

The art is beautiful, it's super clean and works perfectly with the gameplay. Same as the audio, the music is relaxing and the sound effects are satidfying.
Really good work on this submission, it's easily one of my favourites! I hope you take this idea further in the future, I'll be watching for more!
Very fun little game! I think I played the balance update version since I played it on the web, so I kept my ratings modest since I figure it's still probably very close.
I died the first time because I didn't save up for fishy research and got overwhelmed. After that I kept playing because I was hoping to unlock more stuff after fishy research, then I thought about quitting since it was obviously not happening, but I saw all these screenshots where everyone maxed out everything so I decided to keep going.
Only, I decided not to max out the fish pond since that was just a distraction from maxing out fishy research since you reach an equilibrium quite a few upgrades before I stopped clicking the "more fish" button. Also, the tower doesn't really use ammo fast enough to have any incentive to put any cats into it, at least by endgame times. I wanted to find the perfect balance of my 20 maxed out cats, but never needed to add any more back to the tower after I lowered it to 1.
Anyway, this is really fun, and I know you opted out of audio but I'm absolutely bopping to the gentle sounds of chiptune SFX layered on top the the dulcet tones of a woman who is I think whispering 'audiojungle.com' to me, but maybe I'm hearing what I want to hear since it's so quiet. Seriously, what is this music track you used? It's so pleasant to listen to :smile_cat:

I'm pretty sure I'm at the end since everything's maxed out. The pixel art is very clean and cute and I had a fun time with the game's loop. I played the itch.io balanced version I think because when I downloaded the windows version, the beginning felt a little waitey for me so the balanced version felt just right.
I loved the art with this old screen look. It reminds me of when I used to play on 286 computers. And I love 1-bit art.
The music won my heart. I could listen to it for hours. It's so cute.
Congratulations!
I really like the art style and the loop feels well balanced if a lil slow in the beginning but I really enjoyed it overall!
anyway cool game

Amazing game!
Really good job !

All of that to say this is a terrific entry and I loved it! One of my favorites between the art style, the fun music, and the balancing of upgrades.
