Story

In the dark, damp depths of the sewer, a daring little mouse has one mission: to steal cheese from the fierce rats that guard it. The rats have hoarded every crumb of cheese they can find, leaving none for the smaller creatures. But you're no ordinary mouse – you’ve got speed, cunning, and a knack for sneaking. You'll need every skill to outsmart the rats, sneak through their territory, and claim the golden prize. Are you brave enough to take on the challenge and become the ultimate cheese Thief?

About the Game:

How to Play:

  • Move: Use the mouse to move your mouse character around the dungeon with right- or left-click. Touch movement is also available on phones.
  • Sneak: Avoid the rats' line of sight! If they see you, catch you right away. Use walls, shadows, and the environment to hide and sneak past them. *Collect Cheese: Find and collect the big cheese hidden somewhere in the the dungeon without getting caught.
  • Rats: The rats patrol the sewers and are always on high alert.
  • Timing and Strategy: Time your movements and plan your route to slip past the rats. Sometimes a quick dash, other times a well-planned wait, is the key to victory.

Features:

  • Stealth-based gameplay: Use strategy and precision to avoid detection.
  • The walls are moving?: Generated semi-random level creates a new flavor of the map each time.
  • Animated characters
  • Position based sound!

Change log (these were done after the deadline):

  • Fixed player detection by rats.
  • Added goal state trigger when reaching the cheese.
  • Added a second level.

I like the animation of the rats, it reminds me of the game Dark Deception. True, I couldn't get the cheese and the enemies didn't react to me(
The game has potential, it is simple in its execution and interesting, it just needs some fix!

Nice visuals, I just feel that the rats field of vision is a bit too hard to read especially when they've spotted me from offscreen. The procedurally generated level is fun to explore and I got the cheese eventually!

Quite a unique approach to the theme. Really liked it. Was quite heavy with the graphics, only giving me 7fps. But nonetheless very nice game. Like some already said a little better indicator for the rats sight would be nice. Maybe also a tiny bigger fov, since I sometimes ran into rooms where the rat was already looking in my direction. But great game. gj

I really enjoyed playing this game! The gameplay was easy to understand right from the start, which is great. Running through the maze and searching for cheese was an engaging experience that kept me interested. The game has a fantastic atmosphere, and I can tell a lot of thought went into the game design. It was fun trying to avoid those pesky rats, even though they kept spotting me :)

I really love the atmosphere !!! It feels like I am a real mouse trying to steal the cheese! Now I can fully understand that being a mouse is not so easy....The art and audio is fabulous!

The graphics are great and the fact it's a custom WebGL engine is impressive! It runs better than most Godot or Unity web exports.

Gameplay wise, it's a bit difficult to see how far the rats can see: their cone of light fade over long distances, but their vision seems to go further than the fading.

Meanwhile, we can somehow push the rats out of the way without them noticing as long as we're behind them. :D

This is a great entry. The gameplay is smooth and fluid, with the rats' line of sight being fairly demonstrated (though there were a few times I was surprised as the red light hadn't quite touched my mouse). I also really appreciated the fact that the map was sort of super-imposed over the gameplay; it really made it feel like a heist. Good job!

That was some very impressive shading - the game feels a little bit unfair as the detection range is huge. In the regards of gameplay I think it would be better to be more in favor to the player - like limiting the cone range or work with some timer that makes you caught when staying some longer interval in long range or rather short when very close (I'm thinking here to mechanics like coyote timers, something that makes you feel "whew this was close, but I did it!")

But still, nice little game!

The volumetrics looked mighty impressive. Also liked how the map was layered on top of the gameplay, it looked really cool. Gameplay could have used more variety in terms of the ways of avoiding the rats, but all in all the experience was solid. Nice engine you got there, keep up the good work.
