hey! someone else made a soot sprite game!

I LOVE the graphics for this one, it's very pretty. The little soot splats left behind are great and something I wish I'd done for my entry BOILERMEN.

the collision can be a bit finnicky at times but overall this is super impressive and VERY nice to look at

Fast-paced horror about the small bacteria around lego blocks and the clean white sock. Nice one :)

I like the visuals a lot and the game's concept is nice.
The foot collisions were a bit weird, but overall I had fun playing.

Really cute! I'm not sure why a soot would be blocked by chalked walls, but I like the aesthetics of it. The game is a bit too easy for my taste, though it gets a bit more challenging at the end. I feel like the game could be improved by having a soot-like enemy roaming around, but I understand the time limit making that difficult. Overall a really cute game!

A very cool and small game, with a simple premise. The graphics were nice, and the sounds were cool. I found some weird interactions where the foot didn't take damage when it should, but that was minor.

Cool small game! It's short and sweet and works pretty good. Graphics and sound are nice. Foot behave strangely sometimes tho. Good job!

Nice overall game, enjoyed playing it. Although I didn't fully understand why sometimes it squashed me, and sometimes it got blocked by a stone. Anyways, made it through regardless!

I also liked that you just respawn, so it's not so frustrating when you die - especially important for a game jam title to keep people playing :)

Fun premise! Baiting the giant sock into stepping on some blocks while avoiding getting squished is fun. Really dig the visual direction too - the slightly scribbly aesthetic makes this a really memorable one. Nice!

Neat graphics, but the gameplay gets samey quickly, you just repeat the same "run to a block, wait for sock to stop above, run up/down a bit" over and over.

Liked the music and sound effects though!

@zz1p Thanks for playing!

@sviborg I'm sure I've experienced some blocks under my feet in my youth.. Thanks for playing!

@guadalupe-murgo Hey, thanks for playing!

@waterflow Something like that :D Thanks for playing.

@olddog Haha, just don't get stomped (unless you want to). Thanks for playing.

@tete Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the collision was a challenge. Thanks for playing.

@sheepolution Superstition can do a lot to a soot, I guess. Thanks for the feedback and playing! Not sure what the other soot would be doing in your idea.

@skyystorm Thanks for playing and the feedback! Yeah, there were some odd cases. I feel I want to figure it out.

@yorsh Thank you for playing and the feedback. It's a fickle sock, what can I say (nah, I'm aware of the issue).

@rynti Thanks for playing! The foot's collision behaves weirdly, didn't find a stable way for it. I'm glad you appreciate the respawning.

@cruise-elroy Thanks for the feedback and playing!

@jack-d-taylor That's my bane in jams, really. Gameplay being repetitive. Then again, maybe this could be said about almost every entry. Thanks for the feedback and playing!

We reached the 20s, thanks all!

This was fun, very short though, but I think it's a plus for ludum games. Great FX and art, good movement feel, enjoyable game. Great job.

> Not sure what the other soot would be doing in your idea.

@coderaurus What I meant was an extra enemy you need to avoid. Because right now you can stay in one place as you wait for the foot to drop. Gives you a bit more reason to roam around.

@sheepolution Ah, I see! Yes, an additional factor on the field would be cool. You have a valid point.

Polished! The graphics are just perfect and the sound design is just as great. I just hoped for a bit more variety on gameplay but the time sure was short.

On a note: on my 3rd run I had it hit all blocks, both completing the level and having a "you ran out of blocks, more careful next time) at the same time.

Very good compo entry, are looks very nice and stylish, and gameplay intuitive and fun to play, I like the attention to detail with character bump animation. Great work.

This was a very interesting concept that I quite enjoyed. The visuals were spectacular. The controls, especially bumping into the blocks, were a bit unpredictable, and I was never sure if the blocks were in the correct position to damage the foot. All that said, I still enjoyed playing it quite a lot.

That's a really good entry, such a great 90's PC game feel. The graphics are 100% on point and the audio in general match so well with it. I did have some problems with the collision, it's really unpredictable, took me literally 5 minutes to hit the socks for the first time, even though it looked right all the times. Great job!

Wow! This really takes me back to the arcade games of the late '80s and early '90s! The graphics and music perfectly capture that retro style, which isn't easy to pull off. The visuals are highly detailed, and I especially liked how the character's physics react when crashing. I might suggest adding some pathfinding to the maps, it could be worth considering. However, I'm not sure how it would affect the overall user experience. Other than that, my sincerest congratulations. For me, this is a solid entry, especially for a game jam. Getting all of this done in 48 hours is truly impressive. Great game!

I liked how the game looks and sounds. Once I got the timing right I managed to get foot stomping on the blocks. I think there could be some more variety in the game, like you need to get the foot to hit specific color block etc. Nevertheless it's a cute game with an interesting mechanic.

Cute! Well, when I'm not getting crushed, at least. Funny concept and really nice graphics. Music fits too. I'm a little unsure about the gameplay, I feel like I would've preferred keys to mouse, and the timing was tricky. I wasn't sure if the sock got stuck sometimes or if it was stunned, in which case some cue would've been good. The directions the blocks went when I bumped into them often felt unintuitive too. I think with some polish to those things this could be really cool since it already looks and sounds so great!

Cute graphics and funny theme, the controls feel really good too and even after beating the level with the least amount of blocks I found myself trying to perfect the juking. Which I almost pulled off flawlessly at the end :D
Everything feels really polished and it was really enjoyable, great job! -Swan
