You're a seal and you hang out in a cave with other seals. Roll around and galumph through the cave. Cuddle your friends and enjoy the atmosphere!

Controls:

W, A, S, D: Move

Space: Galumph (Jump forward)

Q, E: Roll

F: Cuddle

I spent way too much time on the graphics and animations, so I didn't have enough time to do any proper gameplay, so it's more of a tech demo, or an enjoy the atmosphere kind of game. It's using the newest version of Unreal Engine (5.5).

Everything in the game was made during the jam.

Indeed it's not really a game, but graphics are really nice, and the lighting is truly beautifu!

Great atmosphere and can definitely see how much effort was put into the art. I'm curious at what kind of game this would be if you had more time.

Beautiful visualization! Was the cave generated with noise or was it captured with some some of camera? Either way it looks amazing. Cool vibes and great job ![img.png](///raw/a6b/34/z/67f9f.png)

I'll be honest, I thought the seals were kinda scary, but once I got in the mood I enjoyed my stay in the seal cave! Great job

@plasticsword Thanks! I was thinking some kind of action adventure game with a lot of exploration. A combat system where you could headbutt the enemies and you had to roll out of the way when they attack you. Abilities you could unlock to get further in the levels. Water you could swim in faster than you can walk on land. Very over ambitious, I know, but I had a lot of thoughts that I really liked. ^^

@winter2277 Thank you! The cave is made out of two meshes. I made base shapes in blender, and then brought them in to Substance Designer where I created procedural textures, and displacement maps that I applied to a heavily subdivided version of the base mesh. The meshes uses an insane amount of polygons, but nanite just handles it and makes it run smoothly. Quite incredible what they've achieved with nanite really! The ground meshes are scattered on a landscape using the PCG (procedural content generation) system. The wall meshes I placed by hand in the editor. The seal was sculpted in ZBrush, textured in Substance Designer and rigged and animated in Blender.

@bombelix Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it! That was actually what I was aiming for. Scary and cute. :D

The juxtapoisiton between the incredibly cute cuddle animation and the scary creatures. I want to awww and also AHHHHH. The art is genuinely amazing. I would've loved to play a full game. But understand how time consuming 3D modelling is. What you did make is really interesting though. The creatures combined with the music and darkness of the cave definately gives off good mood and atmosphere

It's as if Death Stranding and Tusks (2014) had a baby, this was a wonderful and genuine "wtf" experience. 5/5
