👽 A WAR IS BEING WAGED IN SPACE, BUT YOU DON'T CARE SO YOU'RE JUST WATCHING FROM YOUR TV 👽

Cosmic Critter Chess is a turn based, chess-inspired game where you control tiny creatures that are waging war against each other

NOTE: unfortunately the web builds are not working, so after several hours of debugging we've given up. The Windows and macOS builds should work fine though!

Loved the art and the game mechanic. I recommended this game to one of my friend who loves to play chess, and he thought this is really cool and interesting.

Whoa, this is a very, very solid chess-like game, reminds me of Battle Bugs and Shotgun King

Great job!

(And it's a lot of it, too, both the bugs and bonuses variety and the amount of levels... AI could be better, but it's not easy to make a good AI in 3 days :v: )

I really enjoyed playing this game! I think a couple of the bugs could have been explained/designed a little better - the grasshopper solos, and the dragonfly being unable to take bugs on the edge of the screen is rough. Otherwise, I had a blast!

Very nicely done game! Liked the chess but with a twist and abilities kind of angle. Would've loved more and maybe some kind of free play mode. Definitely an expandable game. Great job!

It was interesting to play, at first I thought it was simple chess, but the longer I played, the more I realized that this game has its own identity and that the game has its own character. Separately, I would like to note the well-developed balance and artificial intelligence of the enemy. Thanks to this, it was interesting to play every game.
The graphics are also at a high level. Great job!

Despite the troubles you confessed to in your dev log, the polish and the gameplay are great! The pieces really were interesting and unique, so the strategy was satisfying. I'm surprised you also got in some nice progression with upgrades as well.

While I'm not sure the rock mood is what I would have chosen myself, I was def jamming. So I can't fault you there! The controls felt polished, as well as explainable, and I appreciated the funny bios for the pieces. Telegraphing the enemy moves was nice of you, too!

Well done!

Awesome chess variant! My mistakes always came down to treating it like normal chess and not one where my knight can move 2 times in a row or a rook rams through everything in it's path. On top of that there are special abilities adding another layer. One thing though, I wish there was a bigger color difference between yours and the opponents pieces to easier tell them apart.
