Produce, Sell and... Goblins? by Obidiix-MinusInfinity

A small Tycoon game where you hire goblins to help you on your generic factory, while upgrading the machines to gain more money.

You can summon goblins from a machine which lets you select with the number keys what type of goblin you want. These are:

Worker Goblin: Operates the machines along the conveyor belts, being these machines upgradable.

Carrier Goblin: Goes to "Delivery" conveyor belts where they can hold up to 5 items before going to the sell table to sell them.

But before even having a carrier goblin you must interact with the items and take them to the selling table.

Machines on the conveyor belt can only be operated by worker goblins

Congrats for finishing your game! I really like tycoon games, and one with goblins is very cool!

This had nice cozy vibes :) The ldjam page version didn't open for me but on itch.io it worked!

Congrats on the game! Love the custom paint textures on the goblins, super funny
They didn't do anything for me though, maybe because I spawned like 10 in a row ahah

Very moody, just wish there was more for my army to do.

Bro, cool graphics, the idea is not bad either, I advise you to add training at least to the description of the game, but otherwise you are great, you good tried hard.

Game looks interesting and I love the lighting, unfortunately it was very unclear what to do to me, or even what button to press. I just walked around the room pressed E and saw a bunch of menus but didn't get what to do. Some in-game explanation would be nice. Still some potential!

@thomas-bringer you're right, I should have added some more explanation into it as it isn't as clear as I would liked it to be, I'm going to have that in mind if i try making it a "complete" game

@hurp I forgot to add a limit to spawn them haha, the thing is I wanted to add a building mechanic but it was far off from the time I had left

Like @thomas-bringer said, it was not very clear what to do. Also, I don't know if it's a bug or what, but the camera seems to rotate to right at constant rate. When I tabbed out and back in to the game, it stopped, but when I clicked back to the game, it started rotating again, making it quite unplayable for me. :/

Congrats for your game! I like the idea and the mood! reminds me of my 1st jam game! I'm not sure I understand everything, because once I upgraded my production machine to plasma I wasn't sure on what to do, but if that was it it was cool anyways! you should develop it further!

I would say that I spawned too many goblins, but I reckon there's no such thing as too many >:)

I see three main defect to your game:
- Lack of feedback : when something happens, the player don't really knows it, so having visual ou sound effects helps a lot to know you did something
- the navigation in the menues is not very intuitive : I think this is because it avoided you the trouble of having to manage a classical menue, with buttons, navitation, etc. Maybe you could have dropped the menues all together, and directly map the interactions to an element in the decors. so you would have a big red button saying "UPGRAED" (with the price somewhere) in front of the machine, and when you interact with it, it upgrades it directly.
- balancing, but this is something everyone stuggles with, usually in game jams your mechanics are completed at the last minute and you don't have the time to say to yourself "Hey, this things needs to go faster/slower", etc...

Anyway, otherwise the game is working, there are no bugs, the mood is very nice, I like the graphics and the music, and a classic tycoon game is always a pleasure to try out, great job in making it all!

I love the atmosphere!

With a little more content it would be really nice, but the foundations are good to continue a few things.
We sometimes have problems with the camera or our character getting stuck / rollback

And details but, porters can wait indefinitely for stock on a mat, while the one behind is full and blocks everything else.

It's a good game to keep developing!

@manabreak thanks for the feedback! the camera rotating it's kind of a bug because of the game not being centered to the screen, making it move constantly

@tomtomgome that's practicaly a summary of the biggest issues with the game, thanks! as I'm considering making a more complete version

Would enjoy a slower progression. I did enjoy the brief time I spent playing, but I maxed out everything in 5 minutes.
