Love at first sight by LMT

[raw]
made by LMT for LD33 (JAM)
Love at first sight is a game I created in 6 hours for the jam segment of LD33. I had no inspiration until 4 hours before the compo deadline so decided to sleep on it and work on a game on the Monday. This is the result of my work - a short unpolished but interesting (hopefully game).

You must avoid the two lovers ever meeting. You are the monster that is stopping love due to your jealousy.

Of course made in Stencyl.
All the graphics were created by me, but the music used was from soundimage.org

The art and the gameplay are great for only 6 hours of work, and I like the concept! However, I felt that it was maybe a bit too challenging, I spent too long on some parts that became clear when I realised how things worked. Still, a great result for the time spent! :)

Love the look of this, simple and clean. Excellent result (though, in truth, didn't grab me to get past about level 5)?

Stupid prince, walking around swooning all the pretty girls! Can't commit to a proper relationship! No girl deserves him...come to think of it the world would be better without him. I am not a monster...I deliver justice. Anyway, great game! Probably, one of the funnest games I've played thus far in this jam. It has great puzzle mechanics, and you also teach those new mechanics very smoothly. Excellent design there man! 10/10

Wow, what a great entry! Keeping the lovers apart is an incredibly innovative idea. The art and gameplay are excellent, but they could use the polish that comes from a few more days of work. 4.5/5 overall.

Last stage was tricky. I think seeing how the physics work in each of the situations was the right way to go with this. I completed a few stages without using all of the pieces (i.e. 3or 4 pieces left over on the last stage). The alternate solutions were probably not intentional, but it was neat being able to solve the same puzzles in different ways.

Great game! Unique mechanic and I love how it ties to the theme. I had some issues with the controls/collisions, but hey, 72 hours. Well done!

I like aesthetic and mood. However it seems to me that mechanics are a little too challenging to be enjoyable. It's a good project. Thank you ++

Nice idea :). A pretty simple game but the controls are perfectly smooth and the design is super clean. I knew how to use the accessories right away !

I really liked this game. What you did in 6hs is impressive. Last levels felt somewhat tricky, but great job overall!

very cool gameplay and loved the conept! It had some realy hard puzzles X) i liked that. The music is a bit loud and i am not sure if it fits the theme quite right but the graphics are very good.

This is insane amounts of fun! I love the interpretation of the theme, the levels are beautifully designed (although some of them seem to be solvable more easily than perhaps intended), both music and graphics make for a very lovely/cute mood, which only emphasizes the absurdity of the concept. I absolutely love it! :D
The only thing I found could be improved is the way the UI and the placement of the objects work. It's kind of hard to figure out where you can place things and grabbing another object when you mis-grabbed another one is a bit tedious... But that's just a minor thing.

Got stuck on the level from your screenshot but for 6h certainly not a bad showing.

Well done, for a 6h game, good mechanic ideas, and graphism is minimalist but nice!

The concept is sooo dark and evil, I love it! The graphics work well for the concept. A lot of content for only 6h! Great work!

A great game especially for being made in only 6 hours.

Pretty fun.
I didn't use all the pieces every time, but it was puzzling enough that I enjoyed figuring it out.

What a fun little puzzle game. It was neat having systems that aren't quite standard (like walking over 1-block gaps) but were consistent, so you could work with them. The difficulty was definitely a bit rough, but for a game jam it's a fantastic start -- You could easily just add a bunch of intermediate levels in the middle and it'd feel perfectly natural.

Fun game but for God's sake make a walkthrough! Even better if it was really made in 6 hours (finding it hard to believe).

Ps. This is the first game in LD that makes me feel like asshole.(in a good theme-related way)

For a six hour game, you did a pretty cool job! I like the art style and the simplicity of the concept. There are some issues with the grid-based drag and drop but those can be sorted out afterwards. :)
