Thanks for checking out my entry for LD56! I initially wanted to submit this to the compo, but my Saturday got taken up with family duties and I wasn't able to spend much time on this until Sunday. At any rate, I got a submission done! I wasn't quite sure what to do with the theme, so I just slapped this game together using Godot with some tiny creatures.

Some things I'd like to add if I continue working on this game (this is not an exhaustive list by any means):
- Music
- Animations
- A better player character sprite (a smiley face? really?)
- More unique level design (obstacles)
- More enemy variety

Thanks for providing your feedback, and I look forward to playing all your entries as well!

Enjoyed this little game. Clever way to show health loss, nice movements and color choice. Good luck with your future plans!

🎮 Great game for Ludum Dare! Simple but very addictive. I liked the style and concept, and the use of tiny creatures adds uniqueness. 😄 Even with limited development time, the game turned out great! I'm sure adding music, animations, and more interesting level design will make it even better.

The game is very responsive, the graphics and audio are simple and the begining could be a bit more challenging but overall it is pretty nice !

Good game! I got 66 on my first try and 45 on my second. I have noticed that all of the tiny creatures spawn from the top of the screen. I think maybe you could make the bugs spawn from random directions to make it even more fun.

The game is good, but quite simple. Although despite the fact that the game is simple, it's still not bad so addictive, so I went in, I sat several times to beat my mini record.

Nice game. I would maybe suggest adding some hints where the next enemies will spawn, otherwise sometimes there is not enough time to react.
But I really liked the entry, good job :D

Sometimes less is more. It's really simple but executed well.

Really great job getting it put together and polished after meeting your other commitments.

A simple yet fun little game! I like the mechanic where you shrink a bit when you bump into the tiny creatures. I scored 64! All the creatures spawn at the top of the screen, and I just stayed at the bottom, moving left and right—this seems to be the best strategy so far. I also think it would be more interesting if the creatures spawned from all directions. It would make the game harder, but also more challenging!

A good solid game, got a score of 141. Found a nice little strategy of running between corners in the bottom side without stopping and went with that. It was a nice touch to show life loss with the sprite.
Could have used maybe something like obstacles to break the monotony, or even spawning the creatures from all sides. If you are going to develop this further, a temporary "bullet time" might be a nice addition, as the game got very hectic towards the end and there was really no reacting or dodging, just hoping I don't get hit.
But nonetheless it is a solid, fun entry, well done.

@sorro thanks for the feedback! I think you’ve gotten the global high score so far. I really like your idea of bullet time. That would be a fun addition. Thanks for playing!

I think that this was a fun little game. The movement was nice and it worked well. I definitely think some music would help make the game feel less empty though. I enjoyed the art style though it was simple, but charming. Good job :))

66! It's simple and it is fun. Yes, some music and sound effects would have been nice. I actually like the smiley face that progressively gets sad and changes colour

The enemies were a lot quicker than expected! I like the idea of getting smaller on getting hit since it makes it easier. Would be interesting to see how an endless game like this would play if you got bigger gradually and trying your hardest to stay as big as possible. Good job!
