Trace of guilt by Zastegnushka

[raw]
made by Zastegnushka for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

Horror game in PS1 graphics about the short story about old house, mysterik and strange (sad) history.

Enveloped by a veil of secrets, the old house stood as a silent testament to a past filled with sorrow and mystery! (It’s not that dark rn!!)

Good game! Of course, I'm not a horror fan, but I liked it! The visual is also good! But the only note is that the game was a little too dark, but maybe that's how it should be)

Wow. Incredible atmosphere in this. The music and sound effects really make this tense. I felt genuinely unnerved at a few points. Very unique take on the theme too with the summoning being summoning spirits. Really great entry. Only criticism i'd say is it is very dark. Obviously as a horror game that makes sense but some parts are too dark to even see what is in front of you. Despite the PS1 style graphics it is very impressive making a 3D game in such a short time. Well done!

I'm usually not one for horror games, but this seems to be able to create that creepy atmosphere as if it were nothing!

Cool entry ! I liked the level design and good writing. My only remark is regarding the camera. Maybe I was doing things wrong but sometimes I couldn't turn it back to where I was looking and it got kind of stuck. Good job though :)

Wow, that was indeed very atmospheric, well done! I was kept on the edge of my seat at all times. My only issue was with the camera lowering down by itself when moving forward, and maybe a little lack of audio feedback on the locked doors? Because of that, I wasn't sure I was pressing the right button to open them at first.

I really loved the scares, jumped and screamed at one! :D Honestly, I've been waiting for a game like this in this jam, I was actively looking for a good, classic horror title that I can get some spooky moments from. So thank you so much for making it!

My only feedback is regarding the texts in the game: there's a lot of text smashed into small space when it comes to letters, and intro might've been paced better by splitting it into 3 screens instead of fitting everything on one. Last but not least, "the spirit was able to force you to do this" is slightly off for a game over message - do what? I guessed we used the weapon on ourselves, but not sure!

Very well done, excellent mood and pretty creepy! The bobbing effect was a bit too much for me, but I managed to finish the game!

This is spooky. A bit too dark, I know limited visibility, but I had trouble seeing where the doors were. But I definately jumped a few times. Good creepy, just out of view moments, with the ghosts and things. Also the story is perfect for the atmosphere.

What a horrifying experience! Being asked to "Tap to continue" while using PC instead of "Click to continue" has me shaking till now. That moving quad with a texture was a really funny addition. You can clip your camera into the wall and see that iconic sky color, blue as any sky should be. Also you can crouch, but you can't jump, how am I supposed to jump around like an idiot the entire time I play the game, especially during the serious horror sequences? Jokes aside: It's not too dark (just right) despite what others say. The atmosphere, sound effects, environment art and everything else that matters for a horror game are really well made. Good job.

Excellent mood! Impressive work done in a limited amount of time. The fragmented narrative is also great.
