Entered the game by looking at the nice cover art. But the start button does not match the Background image. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: "Gamejam". After that gameplay graphics looks great. Good 3D 2D mix platformer. Summoning mechanism is great. We wanted to have a summoning mechanism like this with key combination. Your implementation is good. It was very hard to cross the first gap. The summoning mechanism gets tiresome after a point and hard to pull of in quick situation. I think a rotational combination of keys would have been better. Like up right down left or starting from right down left up similar to this.

Really liked the idea, this took summoning to a new level . Was a bit hard to get the summoning right at first, especially at the part with a lot of monsters (I panicked there). But overall is was a fun game, I really liked how the Leprechaun started to make those sounds.

The idea is good, but I struggled with the controls and died several times from the very first enemies.

Haha, I'm reminded of Patapon, awesome usage of the theme !
Initially thought I had to move by exclusively using the summons and chaining/combining them, but then I tried WASD and realized it wasn't as complex as I was making it out to be :joy:

@patatenouille Damn, you played the game in hardcore mode then x'D

We probably should have placed the "normal" actions somewhere in game. I'll Add controls to our description, thanks for your feedback and sorry for the pain ^^'

The core mechanic is very funny, some adjustments for difficulty could be to shorten the inputs to summon, allowing longer levels. Nice game !

The concept is quite good! I enjoyed learning spells and summoning creatures (or poop). Though the jumping is a bit hard to get right, you have to be VERY precise with your initial position. And I think the attack spell should be shorter and easier to remember. Overall it was a fun game.

Fun, but spells are a bit long

I like the concept! Spells are fun to type, I can see the game getting frantic. You need to be precise with the platforming, not a lot of room for error with the movement spells.

Art was charming, audio was a bit rough. Overall a good entry, great job!

I like the way you cast spells by making spellwords. I do feel the spells are a bit long as it play like an action game. However, maybe if you'd approach this more as a puzzlegame it wouldnt matter too much. It would be cool for example if a simple just was just the 'wa' and as you go you learn better and longer spells. Overall I think the theme was well implemented. The world looks good and so do the enemies and the sprites. I would love to have some soundtrack included as well for more ambiance but I know this is just a jam and some things are being cut. Overall, nice game!

neat idea, kinda hard due to the length of the spells, but it would make a fantastic mini game in some longer adventure :)

I like these graphics but it needs music to accompany them. Also, I advise you to shorten the spells because they feel very long.

TI TI WA PI KO!!
Casting the little spells was fun :D
Although I have to admit, that it took me a bit to understand that I need to use the arrows and not like e.g. streetfighter where I have to use the actual movement buttons to make my attack :D

I also like the layered 2D style.

Would have loved some more levels and challenges.

But probably the most fun part was failing to do the cast correctly. Summoning a little poop and giving it physics was a nice little touch xD

The art is super good! And the game feels polished, the concept is quite unique, and the game is fun. It took me a while to figure out how to play, but it's worth sticking with it. ;) Well done!

The concept is very unique: summon powers with a directional spell to traverse the level and defeat the enemies. The graphics were nice enough. My problems were 2: the sound and having to translate the WaKoTiPo to the arrow keys in my head. I wish the translation was on screen so I could focus more on the action and less on the translation bureacracy. Good job though!

@prcastro Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the translations, the arrows are normally in the bottom right corner of the UI with each arrow corresponding to the different sounds :)

This was innovative! The graphics are a bit odd for me, but i really liked the 2,5D Style. Also, that you have to cast your summons/spells war a great experience. I found it a bit hard to combine the spells.

Overall, a great experience. Thank you for this innovative approach!

Learned a new language today  Cool concept! Took me longer than it should've to understand how to play, I kept just trying random combos until I paid attention to the text at the top. Had the pot of gold in sight, and died in the last jump.

I got scared by the carpet the first time I used it and fell down hahaha! Got to the gold though at the end.

At first I didn't realise that you chant with arrow keys, while walk with wasd. I though that I need to hold something to chant. I guess its a habit of having both as movement binded usually. Jumped around awkwardly, trying to chant like that! Maybe having wasd on the left side of the screen, similar of how you do chants on the right, to show movement would actually make people understand that easier - as to see with their own eyes that there are wasd and arrow keys showing different actions. Also having those chants next to arrows written with something brighter might help too!

Overall - nice idea :)

Good idea! Really liked the summoning mechanic, feels like it has a lot of potential. The art was nice, especially the background. Would love to see the spells further developed, I completed the game without using the pegasus spell. Overall good job!

very intresting idea, the spell is long, but one attack could beat down all the enemies ahead, that makes it up.

Casting a spell by using absolut gibberish was one of the ideas I had myself. And you guys did a great job at that! Sadly the game has been finished pretty quickly, therefore the graphics and sounds gave the whole entry a nice touch.

Only thing that irritated me was the seemingly long cooldown after casting a spell, that's just my taste though!

The idea is really nice and innovative, and fits the theme very well. It took me a while to learn the summoning chants, probably it would have been better to make at least some of them shorter (2/3 sounds max) so that one can learn a bit at a time, and avoid stopping to read the instruction each time. Also I had some problems with fullscreen mode on itch.io on Linux (was impossible to play, just showing a black screen with a while line in the middle), so I had to play in a small window (tip: on itch.io you can edit the default viewport size, so at least player than cannot use fullscreen have a bigger frame). I would have also nerfed a bit the attack, since it seems to just wipe out all enemies :D

@tommy Thank you for your quality feedback. We have already considered some of your suggestions and will definitively adapt the game to them.

Concerning the itch.io page we will look into it asap :)

I really liked how the game took the theme. The codes to summon the objects are not hard to remember and overall it's just a shot sweet game. But the lack of a music, despite how generic it could be (Like it is in my game) creates a vaccum of atmosphere for the game, you could have got a generic irish music and it would have been better. Also should make more clear that the player have more than one hit point. When I fell off the cloud on top a barrage of enemies I thought I was done for, but after not dying, I just brute forced my way thru.

Lovely game. The core mechanic grew on me surprisingly fast. It felt tedious initially because I tried to memorize the key combinations but when I just mumbled the phrases to myself it became a lot easier (I wouldn't dare play it like that in public though). The 2D/3D art is really nice.

@romulo-developer I totally agree with you feedback, unfortunately we had to remove music to be able to opt-in for the sound category. Regarding the missing indication for the player's health it was mainly due to a lack of time.

@smidgens Definitively not a game to play in public if you don't want to be seen as a crazy person x')
Thank you for the feedback on the art, it is appreciated by the artist :)

@jamesw It was actually the initial intention, taking a plateformer and giving it a puzzle-like dimension.
For the UI, I totally agree, it is rough and a bit rushed. But the art feedback is much appreciated.

Thank you all for your feedback, we're happy you enjoyed the experience

Super game, I hope to have a longer level to be able to discover all the possibilities of your main mechanics which is just simply brilliant, the combination of a platformer and a spell that require a combination of keys for spells! this game can go far! continue like this and thank you very much for discovering your game!
