Everything has a meaning by nyanpierre

made by nyanpierre for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

You are the wizard's apprentice, you must prepare the summoning circle while he's gone. The summoning instructions were placed on the pedestal near the circle. Placing four different elements and drawing the four correct symbols is required to create the powerful spell your master is expecting from you... Are you really willing to comply with those directions?

You can use the magic spells with the Arrow or WASD to move around in the workshop and navigate actions. You can also cast the powerful spell with [F] to interact with objects, when you know what action you wanna do you can cast [F] again to confirm the action or try the other spell [C] to concentrate again on your levitating spell to move.

Game looks sick! I am too tired to activate my brain and understand what it going on here. But your interfaces and systems are working well. Nice job done!

Looks good, nice music, decent controls, maybe a bit hard to know if you will read or drop what you are carrying at times. Good job!

Love the idea of making an escape room game! I also really like the way you interact and combine things all through the same system

Nostalgic puzzle game with great atmosphere. I didn't get very far in making a ritual, but I felt engaged.

It was hard for me to figure out controls, but I loved the idea and the mystery is fun to solve.

This game is so stinkin' cute, it's melting my heart into a puddle of goo. The puzzles are crafted with such clever whimsy, my girlfriend and I are head over heels for your game. It's like you sprinkled confetti on our fun factor!

It is very difficult to figure out what needs to be done. I could only put a phoenix feather on the summoning circle.
But I liked the atmosphere and idea! Thanks for such a great job!

It's a bit challenging to find out what's going on. But cool concept regardless. Maybe add a bit more explanations?

Nice track playing in the background! Like an elaborate escape room. I'm absolutely terrible at escape rooms so I didn't finish, although I (think) I got kind of close. Couldn't figure out the moon, the painting, the purple thing. Really like the concept though, haven't seen anything like it before.

Cool game, I liked it! First time I used the bear trap and the time ran out while trying to figure out how to change the pictures. Second time I used the hidden spell. So it's intriguing enough to making me want to play it again :)

I think this is something you meant to have, but I really think the pictures on the sides of the summoning square would have benefited from have the arrows (like in the drawers). I searched for a pen and some way to erase them. I also would have liked a collision on the corners of the summoning circle, allow the player to stand next to them and turn towards them. I thought it was a bit confusion that some stuff didn't have any interaction (the sofa, and the flower pots) since you convinced me that everything has a meaning :P But then again, maybe I missed it? Or maybe the time limit didn't allowed you to?

Anyways, well done! You manage to finish a playable game, and good on you for joining the jam!

@bjornstenlund Hey thanks you a lot for your comment :) Yeah with the feedback we notice we miss some clues for the picture for exemple. Sadly... you can't do anything with the plant and the sofa, it was a lack of time to give them some meaning, we already have idea for new endings but we will wait the end of the vote procedure. Hope you enjoyed ^^

The gameplay mechanics in this game are so intuitive! It's like the controls become an extension of your own instincts. Plus, the art style adds a unique flair that keeps you engaged throughout. Definitely a gem worth exploring!

This is pretty cool! Love the art and ambiance! I _almost_ gave up on it because 1) the controls seemed a bit awkward, and 2) it wasn't clear at first that even objects without the < and > symbols had arrow interactions. But great fun after I figured that out! Good work!

Hah! I managed to get all endings finally! Very cleaver point to hide the solution to 2, really matches the whole concept of the game!

And I liked it a lot, the audio was spot on, the escape room theme was very well executed, and the endings are interesting. Shame for me the ending I got was the best, and then it went downhill from then on! Also, the narration was a fine touch!

Only complain is it took me the whole first 10 minutes to even understand how to proceed, maybe some arrows as an indication for the Cross section of the summon area. Also all the time I spent trying to click that plant or the table under it expecting something to change! Great entry!

I loved the alternative endings aspect and how they were implemented, it was very fun to play, great voice acting too:-) The controls took a while to get used to though, the pressing C to focus on levitating thing threw me off. And it would be nice if the intro was skippable since you wanna play several times to get the different endings.

Great music and the voice acting is superb! I struggled with the controls and goal and some type of in-game tutorial/help would be useful. I found myself wanting to go forward but lacking info on how to do that or solve the puzzles.

Finding the components and using them in the circle is fun. Its a little bit hard to understand what to do, i summoned the demon but never could make to work the levitating spell pressing C, im not sure what or how to activate that. Overall a fun experience!

Fun concept, it did take a while to figure out how to play but then it was nice to hunt for the items and go through the various endings. It would have been better if there was a bit more depth (more escape-the-room esque elements) like the hidden room, but otherwise its a neat game. A small nitpick would be that there should be a way to turn to a direction without moving forward because I kept walking into the corners of the summoning circle when I just wanted to place an object on it.

Like a lot of other players have said, it was hard for me to figure out how to play the game. But I think it was also part of the game to figure it out and explore everything. After a while I got the hang out of it. I like that you put a bell into the room to call the wizard, if your done with the level.
The controls felt a little bit of. I can´t really explain what bothers me, but running into the summoning circle, even though I just wanted to look in the direction to put my stuff onto it, was one little thing that was a bit annoying.

The music put some nice atmosphere into your puzzle game, I liked it! :)

Really cool game! Loved all the different puzzles, I tried to get all the endings, but just couldn't figure out the 2nd one, I might come back to it later but I've spent way too long trying to figure it out for now-

Regardless, had a lot of fun! Good job!
