Great game! The character controls are great, the cluster controls for the armies are very smart, and it's pleasing to lead such an army!
The only problem is that when I'm trying to suck the soul out of a yellow cyclops, it either gets killed by my necromantic army first or rushes over and kills me in one fell swoop, but I'm really enjoying the game!

@gamenogg @derllie Thank you for the feedback! An updated version of the game can be played here, it has better balance and the big yellow dude can be caught much more consistently:

Adorable game!! The art and theme are on point. I wish there was a bit more of a challenge however; it felt quite easy to get to a point where you would crush the enemies easily

Wow. Nice Game its a cool twist on the genre. Its also really well polsihed with nice content for the time. Art is great. Full Screen would be nice. It was rather tiny on my screen.
Gamepad control would be awesome or mouse. Move in cursor direction, drain on right and summon on left.
Great Job. Could see taht as a full fledged Game.

Normally I'll play a jam game once and then move on so I was surprised to go through 2 more times after the first run! I love it. Progression system is great and everything feels well balanced, it looks amazing but some really lovely sprites, the actual summoning mechanic is really clever too. Just a really polished, well executed game that I had a huge amount of fun with. One of the best I've played so far!

If you ever turn this into a full game I need you to promise me you'll let me know

Also, I'll set the bar for the high scores with this.

Super fun game, I really like the amount of summon that you can get with no issues, still managed to die xD.
Loved the summon mechanic, pretty well implemented.
Awesome job.

Good game. Too bad there are a million of them on the market.

Loved it! The fact that abilities levels are kept for next game is cool feature, as I know that next run will be longer!
Not all abilities are saved though - for max number of cards to hold, level is increasing each game, but max number of card resets. Maybe it was fixed in new version, will play it soon!
Thank you for such a great game!

Very nice and engaging! The music fits perfectly and the bright sprites, as well as FX, compose very well with the dark and ominous background.

Everything worked smoothly for me, with no major bugs in sight. I only was never able to drain the big orange ogre charger. Maybe it was intentional? Or maybe just my summons killed him too quickly, before I could finish my drain (I assumed it would take longer to drain such a big boy ). Oh, and I'm not sure if the arcane projectiles were actually appearing on soul drain (after I took that ability). I don't think I saw any, but I might just have missed them (so much is going on on the screen ).

Some of the abilities you can take on level up do seem much more beneficial than others. But's that's expected.

Any way, a very nice entry! Well done!

Great job, it was fun. The game did quickly get to the point where I really didn't need to worry about anything. I never really felt like I needed extra health.

Very fun mob spawning game! Sound and art are very solid and it was fun playing this a few more times. I think if there is any adjustment, it would be having a better healthbar indicator. I noticed it was difficult to keep track of my health/how much damage I was taking, especially when the orange ogre struck me.

Overall, this was a good time! (and glad to see a GameMaker Studio 2 entry!)

Awesome! Very cool idea and very cool execution! I love having growing hordes of minions. And it's beautiful, gj!
One stuff thing I could highlight for you to think about: change button mashing to button holding - I think it would feel more natural (especially in the case of soul draining) and less fatiguing.

This was really tight! Lucky this one got streamed and picked up some extra ratings - be sure to play and rate in future jams to qualify. You've done a great job here, it's super complete. Everything was really clean.

Very enjoyable to play, sort of game that's easy to lose track of time playing. Nice graphics and sound effects. Great effort :)

I like simple art and music but I would have appreciated it if it had a web version. Anyway it's a good game. Good job!
