Ubuq by cubotrox_toni
“Ubuq” is a 2D action video game, at which the music is the main driver for the combat system, similar to Guitar Hero style, and it has few components of Shoot’Em Up and RPG.
The ancient civilization of Ubuq already used advanced technology from 6.000 years ago, and nowadays they evolved until dominate the world. In order to try change that situation, the rebel group Glitch has sent a time traveler to the past. His name is Swap and he uses a timeless music machine, by which he can control the sounds of the future in order to neutralize the ancient technology and so disassemble the Ubuq civilization.
Instructions (xbox gamepad / keyboard):
* Left Stick / Space Bar = Move
* Left Trigger / Space = Prepare Attack
* Buttons A,B,X,Y / Keys 1,2,3,4 = Launch Attack

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description. (you can already find several games from the jam there)
Keep working on it!
Really hope to see more work over it :)
'Precharging' 1 or 2 chords the weapon maybe could give it more dynamism.
PD: You can skip this comment as I know it's a rush work in so little time, but to say something 'constructive' (I hope), consider closing the border of the map! And maybe adding some level finished/restart/menu if you clear everything! :D
This game can easily become a real game, keep working on it! Nice job!
It could use some balancing, regenerating health, or different types of attacks with different styles of button sequences.
But still, very impressive!
I would recommend each time you successfully press a button the rhythm gets faster, and also maybe make a the margin of error bigger at the beginning of the attack and make it less after you land more attacks.
@Digitaldude555, hahaha, coins are the same than real life: they are useless ;)
@AlexanderMerk, what do you mean? We are in facebook.com/cubotrox and twitter.com/cubotrox
But the gameplay is pretty badly thought out; the enemies are shooting at me, rather quickly, but each time I want to shoot at them I have do a quick time event, while trying to move out of the way of the bullets. And it never actually shot, it just made a power up noise :/
Would be really interesting to have some sort of spellbook as well. Could maybe select an ability somehow, and then play the correct musical sequence to activate it. Or maybe you just start playing, where each of the buttons is a note, and different musical sequences create different effects.
Just spitballing, but you guys are onto something really unique and interesting here.
There is a lack of visual feedback when the player attack.
More sounds and animation could make it really cool. Great job though.
I liked also the art and audio.
Well done ;)
Found the attack system a bit confusing but fun over all.
Well done! :-)
Unfortunately those keys don't appear every time i press space sometimes that appear to imidiatley disappear i suppose they move around but i dont know what and when to press you probably should check more keyboard controls.
Saying that i couldnt go to far so i only saw begging. graphics look good but music is very repetitive i feel like those loop drum series makes that.
