Nice concept. I like the theme and Helldivers-style inputs. A little confusing at first that I had to press shift to enter input mode, finish the sequence, then press shift again before I could use the ability.

That was fun. I needed a sec to get the summoning mechanic down, but after that things went smoothly.

A cute little bullet hell! I would have like a visual indicator to know whether or not I am in summoning mode.

The art style is so cute, and the tower is a cat-crawler!! The summoning spells are very involving, though a bit hard for me. Nice work!

Nice work! Loved the sort-of mash between bullet hell and fighting game with the spell combos. It did feel a little clunky casting the spells (I think making it auto-cast when you finish instead of pressing tab again would help). But I got quite good with it and lasted for a little over a minute. Interesting spell ideas and very unique!

The game works, nice! Tried to kill xenoses and died for Freedom. R.I.P.

This is actually a pretty fun little game! You should experiment with making enemies that do side-to-side movement as well, enemies with staggered movements (Stopping and starting), enemies that move along restricted paths, there's a lot of possibilities! Great work :)

The design is great, very neat. For the summoning, it's kinda difficult to understand properly that you need to click again for the spell to work. Could be improved. Though good idea, effects are cool, though great job !

Graphics are really cute, love the invocations but having to exit the "summoning mode" once the code is achieved is really not intuitive and there is a lack of feedback on the character when you succeed the code. For me its the only downside. Otherwise you can really feel the "Hell Divers 2" influence.
The name is nice but you totally should have called it "Cat Divers" for the joke.

Anyway...very good job! =)

Very pleasant art and colors. The music is also nice and fitting to the setting.

I think the summoning could just be ended with a click, after you are done with the combo. Pressing Shift again seems unnecessary. I would also love to see some end screen with a score/stats - e.g. seconds survived, enemies destroyed. That would give a player an incentive to try again and do better. Right now, the game just goes back to the menu, leaving the player without closure.

Anyway, it's a really nice entry. Great work

@fabula-rasa yeah, we didn't have time for end screens and polishing in the end, Xett's internet was cut off on the last day and I got school so we had to wrap up the core game itself

still, glad you enjoyed it!

I like the art style and music and sound. I would say that the controls to cast spells is a bit clunky. I would prefer either not have to switch to a casting mode, or to automatically exit from the casting mode once a valid combination is entered, maybe using the Shift key to reset if you entered an incorrect one. However, you would be limited in the number of valid arrow presses you would have.

This is really great. I actually did something similar with using arrows to summon for my entry but I think I prefer the way you've implemented it, mine was a bit clunky. The art is really cute - the cat and the summons especially. I think there's a nice variety of different summon types here which is great, it really helps you play in a few different ways. Well done!

The Helldivers-esque casting mechanic is fun to use and the graphics are really nice! The inputs might need a little tweak as said above, but it's no biggie. Overall, this is a cool game that is going in the right direction :100:
