Cool memory game.
I like the possibility of having more than a single pair.
Levels + lives are also nice.

I'd tweak controls a bit. Changing between keyboard and mouse is breaking immersion.
And clicking button after choosing a pair seems unnecesairy as you cant take any action.
Small delay would be preferable.

@namespacev Yes, I've seen some people trying the game, that all seemed to expect that. I might change it. But I don't know if that is considered a small bugfix allowed after deadline.

@fredrik-andersson Yes, it should be hard enough to at least challenge everybody a little, but some will still finish the game is first try. Most people seem to get at least quite far in their first attempt.

I really liked the art for this one, especially the title card. Effects of the symbols spinning round were good too. I didn't get to far but seemed like a good execution of a simple concept :)

from a pico 8 lover, i love the art very gothic and all the little ideas around memory (levels, trio, life...) are nice and the game is polished and clean...well done

@piero-pbes-studio Thanks! I’m really glad to hear people enjoying it. It was important to me, to make something that could feel done, I didn’t want just another unfinished project.

I think this is the first Pico-8 game I played that uses the mouse lol
Loved the art! I wasn't able to beat the game but was fun to try to beat it a couple of times.

This is a good example how you can breath new life into (very) old genre. Very good execution and polish.

It was quite hard to tell the difference between some of the pentagrams. I guess this was intentional but since Pico-8 has such a low resolution, those images are not too far from each other.

I really liked this game! You guys are great!

I think the game was incredibly well made! It was difficult in a way I wouldn't expect which provided a nice challenge. However, it was super nerve-wracking that we only had so many lives and if you are unlucky you can lose 4 of them before you can even get any pairs right. Not to mention the match 3...
Still, really cool game!

took me a while but I beat it! I think there was a dip where I got really bad at memory games but i redoubled my efforts and made it through. :sweat_smile: I liked the art, could have been cool to see how the memory game itself work it's way into defeating the enemy (i guess while it is also summoning it?) - perhaps the extra moves you have at the end gives you the "final attack" as a final result of your memory prowess. nice work!

@aeveis Good to hear that at least someone saw the ending! <3 i really wanted to make some kind of boss battle, but I was lacking good ideas for it. Your comment makes me want to work on that, and maybe release a new version. Look out for updates on the Pico-8 BBS. ;-)
