Bounce Bounce Goblin by Doonutsaur

[raw]
made by Doonutsaur for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

Hello everyone!

This game is titled "Bounce Bounce Goblin."

Your goal is to summon goblins and send them into mines.

Each bounce earns points. Enhance your score by adding effect cards and new goblins to your deck each round.

The concept was inspired by Balatro, and I aimed to incorporate pinball-like mechanics.

This game has many bugs waiting for fix cuz I tried to JAM too many things in two days! SOrry!

How to

Send goblins to the mines and they will do stuff themselves by bouncing. Use A/D keys to rotate the cannon. Movie_014-ezgif.com-video-to-gif-converter.gif

Then after you complete the level, buy items and build your deck. Movie_015-ezgif.com-video-to-gif-converter.gif

Hope you Enjoy the game!

This is fun! Nice, coherent little gem of an entry. Straightforward mechanics, fun aesthetics, nice music and sound design choices, and an all-around polished feel.

Nice submission!

Fun spin on a mining game with interesting bounce physics. I especially liked the shop/"deck building" aspect. Wish it had a feature to deploy all goblins if I want to. Maybe it would be good to add a timer to incentivize quick decision-making.

This was quite fun! Art feels really polished and the music is very catchy haha. Was it inspired by the chocobo song by any chance? Great work!

Fun game, easy to understand, straight to the point. The graphics are super cool, the music reminded me of Sims games for some reason

I love it, kept playing forever! The song is reminiscent of the Chocobo theme which is a straight A in my book. Art and SFX are super cool and the idea behind the game too! Hope it gets expanded!

Easy-to-learn classic gameplay but with innovation, and the art style is very cute! The sound effects are also very cute, suitable for playing for a while when you are tired from work

Addictive game, very polished and playable. You are limited in the number of deploys rather than summons, so it seems useless to not deploy all four goblins every time. Also, you get only $1 for left over deploys? It makes more sense to reward the player by enabling racking up score using those leftover deploys. At some point the game froze/crashed.

Nice framework you have started here. Took me a few rounds to kind of understand what I was doing, but once I did it seems like it has potential to be a pretty addicting concept. Keep developing and congrats on accomplishing what you have so far. Good work!

I like a lot about this game! I think it's missing some aspects in terms of strategizing, and the items might need some balancing, but it's already pretty fun to summon a bunch of goblins to watch them bounce around.

Everything feels quite polished and complete, very impressive. I especially love summoning multiple goblins at once, would love to summon even more haha

Very polished game in terms of presentation. Everything is very clear, which leads to an easy understanding of the game. The physics and graphics add a lot to the cuteness-factor of the game. :D

I think it would be better, if you can`t shoot your goblins, when you haven`t selected all of them. Is there a point of not selecting all of them? In my first gameplay I just selected 1 or 2 goblins, but I felt that it´s just a disadvantage to do that. But that´s just a minor thing, which is easy to fix.

The sound effects and the music are nicely integrated. I really like the little detail, that the goblin-canon gets streched out while shooting.

I read that you will keep working on the game. You can write me if there is a new version. Would like to see the improvements. Good job!

@lllarso haha thanks! I designed a strategy system where player has to pick certain goblins for combo but didnt have time to make it. Im still working on this game to add more depth to it ! thank you!
