The Stone Summoners by GDMage

[raw]
made by GDMage for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

In "The Stone Summoners," players are immersed in a mystical world where the earth awaits its rebirth. Your task is to use seven unique summoning stones to create new forms of life. Each stone possesses unique properties and energies that can be combined to achieve unexpected results.

Game Objective: :sparkles: Create unique combinations of 3 to 7 summoning stones to spawn new life forms. For each successful combination, you earn 9 coins.

How to Play:

Choose Your Stones. Start by selecting between 3 and 7 stones from your set.

Combine the Stones. Arrange the selected stones in a specific sequence to activate their energies.

Summon Creatures. Initiate the summoning process. If your combination is successful, you will create a new creature and earn 9 coins.

Even in the cleanest house, shit happens... twice.

Engage with Players: After playing, share in the comments how many coins you were able to accumulate and what creatures you have summoned. And discuss strategies with other players! :speech_balloon:

Very chill, stress-free game (A welcome reprieve after a busy LDJam!). Background visuals and music are a big highlight to me, though the 'summon creature' SFX feels a bit out of place in comparison to rest of audio. Overall though great job folks :)

Gorgeous particle efefects and art, feels like a place I'd like to visit after a long day of mining ore. I got like every permutation of crocodile and fish imaginable, it was great

I don't quite understand the logic of how the creation works and which tiles should be selected.
I think such an idea would be good if there was an opportunity to somehow visualize the recipes that you have already opened.
backgrounds are cool

Nice game, I like the weird cretures that you can summon with the combinations :D. Do the position of a stone is going to change the result or is it just the type of stones chosen that will make a difference ?
Great job overall, I like the graphics and the music/sound design ! Well done !

I like the art style. But game mechanics looks unpredictable.

Cool vibes and really beautiful graphics. I just didn't grasp how to know which combination to do or not, and I'm unsure of what to do with the bottom right indicator. Would love an explanation if possible to play again :)

It don't really understand how the combination works or what the indicator on the right means, but the game is chill and has a great mood. It's nice to just try different things and collect various combination. I think it would be good to also have like a book keeping track of every creature you managed to summon!

I played for a bit (got 63 coins and my best animal is possibly the bear with 5 elements), but never got an understanding of the rules. I thought that order that you place the elements in the board was relevant at first, or their position, but I did several test with the "bear" elements and always got bear, so I was a bit lost at that point. The music is indeed super relaxing and made enjoyable exploring a bit the space.

I messed around for a bit but couldn't understand the rules behind the summoning; it felt completely arbitrary. Presentation was nice though.

I really wish there was a tutorial to give me a better foundation for how to properly summon. It's a neat mechanic, but there needs to be some guidance on what to do for the player to fully jump in and enjoy.

I do love the music, it helps set the tone for experimentation!

I tried experimenting and got 171 points, but I don't have a clue about what would be the result of certain runes used together. I liked the 3D background and music, I think with a bit more explanations (or more runes) it would be easier to follow the logic. But nice entry, nevertheless! :)

I scored 396 head points, not without difficulty. I was too lazy to take notes, but including a bestiary of the invocations I'd already done as I went along would amount to the same thing. Without taking away the difficulty of course, by gradually adding new locations and stones to create other combinations giving more points. Good job!

Very nice art and atmosphere, took a little while to figure out how to combine certain stones but got myself some nice creatures at the end!

I like the concept of this game, and really enjoy the art, I can't quite understand the logic behind the combination, but randomly try something is not that bad ;p
