I didn't realise the crystals are what charged the electrons at first, only noticed when I looked at your gif. It gets quite difficult by the end, enemies spawning directly in front of you combined with not being able to easily aim your attacks is a nasty combo. I did find myself running into a freshly-spawned enemy I couldn't see every time I went behind the tower.
Cute art and sound design, love the colour palette. It's maybe a touch dark but that does help the light effects pop off more.
Overall really nice work though!
Managed to win on my third attempt. The polish is incredible for a compo game! Good tutorial and nice graphics. The mechanics can be kinda confusing but I guess that's what makes it unique.
Despite the difficulty, I had fun and played it a few times.
If I were going to improve on something, I would say that skipping/ending the tutorial should give you full electrons. It's possible to just sit at the beginning and gather power when you're in the first step of the tutorial, so being able to skip those few seconds would be a nice touch.
First of all the graphics and audio were all super chunky and satisfying. I appreciate a lot of the small details like the rover motor sound. And the fact that the PC is a little rover with a wizard hat is just fantastic.
Took me a bit to understand how everything worked, but I got a strategy down and it was fun and satisfying! My ADHD brain got overwhelmed a few times with stuff flying all over the place but that was part of what made it fun. I can see a lot of possible cool mechanics if you were to push the idea like special particles you could fire that electrons would orbit or something.
Really cool and unique idea, very well executed!
Oh my gosh, how did you guys whip up such an astounding piece in such little time? I'm head over heels for your art style – it must've been a herculean effort, right? And the game's difficulty is just perfect, exuding a vibe of total maturity. I'm so hyped, I can't wait to throw my cash at it! Shut up and take my money!!

Wait, my bad—I mistook it for a jam project. Is this actually solo work? That's even more mind-blowing... Oh man, how did you pull that off?
@james-7777 Thank you! I also have some ideas for how to make the chaos a little more controlled with some kind of 'lightning rod' to gravitate the electrons towards a point.
@el-pepi Woo! Grats on your win. Thank you for playing!
@andrewkennedy Thanks for giving my game a try, and thank you for that feedback on the tutorial skip! That's a great idea I'll definitely implement.
@wheffle Haha good catch on the AI, that's exactly what is happening! Thanks for pointing that out — gives me the nudge to retune the AI a bit to be slightly less predictable. Also love the orbiting idea I'll definitely try to include that one in my next update! thanks for playing
@niterich Thank you for that feedback! I'll definitely keep that in mind with how to convey that better to players. I see a lot of people missed that aspect too, so you aren't alone. That's really valuable for me to know so thanks for leaving a review!
@drgcandle Thank you for such a kind review! I'll be working on an update for the aforementioned Godot Wild Jam this week, so stay tuned! Really glad you enjoyed my art style. I've gotten pretty fast at pixel art and have years of sketchbooks I turn to for reference when I am looking for inspiration to create new assets. Making this as a solo dev just took a lot of time. I didn't sleep much over the weekend and put probably 30 hours of work into it over the two days! Also shout out to my brother who helped playtest and give me some great feedback before the last push to deadline. Now my favorite part: getting some rest and playing some of the other jam games! Thanks for playing and glad you're hyped!!
@digitaliliad @owtuvammo @brucezoom Thank you all for playing. Glad you had some fun :)
Edit: Gave it another shot after seeing in the gif that summons can help charge the main crystals this actually made it almost to easy if you just spin around the tower as the enemies seemed to rarely target the summons. But man seeing all the electrons work together was super satisfying! Great job the attraction repulsion system works great!
Is there a way to find how much health you have?
The graphics are really cool, the audio is top-notch but I found the electron mechanic to be a bit hard to use. In the end, I've let my helpers shoot out their electrons towards masses of enemies and it worked ^^ 215 helpers summoned, 106 dead :D
Overall, very impressive! I would try to make the electrons easier to use but that's pretty much it.
Also, what a creepy atmosphere, I love it :)
@ilari Thank you for playing :) Glad you enjoyed the visuals, and noted on the difficulty curve. It was valuable feedback that I took into the [expanded v2 of the game for Godot Wild Jam](https://ecaroh.itch.io/ecarohs-mecharoh-2)
@sirjupitron Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for playing :)
@hot-noggin-studios Thank you! And agreed, I think that the electron ammo limit was probably a mistake in my design in this version. I also had that frustration a few times while testing!
@dywanix Thank you for playing! Appreciate the feedback.
@domenixius Thank you for the detailed feedback of your experience! I think I do need a little more tuning to the electron system. It's tough to find the exact right balance between control and chaos, because like you said the electron chain reactions is definitely the most fun part, which is partially due to the chaotic system. Thanks again and glad you had some fun with it :)
@zen Really appreciate it! Thanks for playing!
@gaverion Good call! I heard that feedback from a few others as well. I ran out of time for the healthbars but I definitely could have implemented a basic text display in the corner for your HP. I'll definitely keep that in mind for the future — provide all the information the player might need, even if it's not fully polished! Good lesson there thank you :)
@denvil Awesome! Glad you had enough fun to try a couple runs. That was the exact length of time I hoped people would enjoy with this little game. Thanks for playing!
@josang1567 This version of the game is definitely a bit messy with how I designed it. The summons can be placed near the three "power crystals" which send energy back to the central tower, which recharges the electron ammo. This whole system was reworked when I made the [updated version](https://ecaroh.itch.io/ecarohs-mecharoh-2)
@linky439 Thanks for the great feedback! It was really helpful in my revisions and improving the controls and also reworking the enemy summon pattern to be less frustrating (and exploitable haha). Sounds like you mastered the game! Thanks so much for playing and glad you enjoyed :) (PS there was no health display, regrettably, but I did add a health display in the new update game!)
@silkworm-sweatshop Thanks so much for checking out my game! Yeah you have to keep moving around the map which is not always super obvious to players. I added a stage boundary in my updated game which I think helps players naturally discover the 3 crystals. Your feedback was greatly appreciated and helped a lot with tweaking the design! Thanks again :)
@maxthedoom Thank you!! Really makes me happy to hear you enjoyed it so much! 100% agreed on health indicator, and you're right about the tower 'health bar'. Had a lot of fun doing the sound design and ambient sounds so glad you loved the atmosphere :)
@kirass @roman-dubrovin @cogcomp @ruslana Thank you for playing :)
