I really liked the Undertale-like survival mechanics. The game is very solidly implemented and has a short but fun story. Well done.

Short and fun little game

This game is on crack and I'm all for it!

Seriously, the theme is vaguely respected and the way everything is conveyed is strange to say the least, but the amount of content is insane !

Great work !

I played through it, got a question! Is there some kind of "new game plus", or content that is unlocked on second playthrough? When I finished the game and restarted, there was a new dialogue line ("Something is wrong", I believe) which I haven't seen before - so if there's more stuff I'd love to play it again :)

I was really surprised at the change of pace on encounters, that was fun! Here's some feedback:
- In some moments when it should be impossible for us to interact with folks around we can still do that (on reloading scenes you can trigger a dialogue again, for example)
- It's not clear where collisions of the map are - I thought at first forest is not explorable as it had a dark edge that suggested "nope, don't go", and I couldn't see walls in the cave at all
- Your game doesn't work on Ludum Dare web - I think you made it in Godot, if so, you'd need to follow the guide here to make it work: https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/ - or I just suggest leaving it on itch alone if you don't have time :)

@outstar Thanks for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated!
And also thank you for the heads up/guide for the GoDot fix, we will work on that in the evening.
In terms of map bounds and the dialogue issues, we know that it is a bit "unprofessional" but we simply didn't have time to add fixes for these anymore at the end of the timeframe, since these are mostly cosmetic rather than gamebreaking. :(

Regarding your question about content in the second loop: This doesn't exist perse, but there is a secret boss fight you can trigger by fulfilling certain conditions. These might not be obvious at first but I can tell you that they involve reading as well as having a tool to defend yourself with. ;)

I'm impressed you managed to have this whole storyline finished in the space of one LD. Also, I was so shocked when I approached the flower and was suddenly thrown into a CRT monitor bullet hell fight. Very cool! Something happened to me after I started the ritual on the first playthrough and the game just ended? But I went back to see if there was a different ending and found the boss battle. Not sure what I did wrong to miss it initially. Great work!

As said before, short and fun, and nice mix between the calm map wandering and the battles. It was nice to follow a story and play an original game !

Really charming game! Enjoyed the art and the dialogue. I think the controls during the fight could've been better communicated (didn't realize we needed the mouse). Overall, great submission! :)

I wasn't expecting this hahaha, I loved the interactions and the minigames, I wish death was a little more forgiving as I died almost beating the demon. I'll try again to see the alternative ending! The graphics were good, a lot of hidden jokes and references, and the story progression was very cool, I was very immersed!
Keep up the good work!

A short story with old-fashioned RPG style, and shoot 'em up combat. A great idea!

Wasn't expecting a minigame inside the RPG! It's great to see some story-driven entries in gamejams. I really liked the atmosphere.

Feels like a spiritual successor of Undertale which is a brilliant game! Make sure to finish this, I'd love to see more story and fights like this :D

I really like the combination of narrative and minigames à la Undertale. I really hate invisible walls:)
Good work!

Neat, but avoid invisible walls next time. Still, good job, and reminded me of undertale :)

Stuffed full of memes, I see... The "combat" mechanic is interesting. You did a few neat things with it and I'd like to see it developed into a full game. Some kind of tutorial would be helpful, even if it's a text label somewhere. Why does the Restart button require a mouse click?
