:sparkles: PLAY IT HERE :sparkles:

Summon hoards of ghosts to kill the denizens of the mysteriously flat and desolate village of Onnud. How many can you kill?

Controls: * WASD / Arrow Keys to move. * Enter key to select a menu or upgrade option. * Spacebar to summon ghosts from corpses.

Ghosts are summoned in the square radius. Works on tombstones and bodies.

Collect gems to level up your abilities.

Due to a known bug, the web version ends early. If you want to play it forever download the windows exe version. However the canonical ending is that the witch ends her rampage at 100 kills.

This is my first ever game. Wished I could have made more of my own assets but ended up using some CC0 ones. Sources for assets bellow!

Very much a Vampire Survivors-like. Fun little thing, but it froze for me twice

I really liked the graphics and the gameplay is fun, but it froze a lot, I had to restart the game several times. I would have played longer otherwise !

Updated a new version that should "fix" the freezes some people have experienced!

The fix means the game has to end early.

If you want to play it *forever*, then download the windows exe!

This was very fun! I had to download the windows exe because I wanted to play more after reaching 100 kills haha. The game does grind to a halt after so many summons but I guess that's to be expected lol.

The game does feel a little bit too easy at the moment, maybe stronger villagers should spawn after a while to spice things up a bit? Also being able to choose level up traits with number keys (1-2-3) would be nice, since it's a bit awkward having to press enter. Either way, it's definitely a fun take to the vampire survivor's genre. I would love to see this game expanded further!

Very fun game! It took me a little while to figure out where to summon at first, but after I got the hang of it, summoning a large army of ghosts was really, really rewarding! Had problems with getting stuck, but I really enjoyed the game!

Game is really fun! More blocking assets would be a nice improvement if you plan on making a post jam version.
Unfortunately the game froze shortly after the second ghost as commented above.
Best wishes!

I got the winning screen really early but it was very fun. Seems like Vampire Survivors but with an army of your own. Would love to see this expanded upon.

Well, playing forever on the desktop version is a bit of an overstatement. At some point the army just grows so large it starts killing the framerate too, now that's what I call a rampage ;D

The game is nice, I like the concept. But the fun doesn't last very long imo, as the game quickly becomes too easy, and lags a looooooooot. I would have loved to see more assets to fill this wide grass field.
But that's just small things to add, it's still fun. I guess with a bit more time it would have been great :)

@axodo @andruid I definitely wanted to add more assets to the world! I didn't do any changes at all on the final day between going back to my day job and trying to fix that annoying web bug (I no longer have time to work on it -- maybe after the jam I can really dig in to find the problem). I didn't know you can submit bug fixes after the jam ends -- though in retrospect I guess that makes sense. If I knew that I would have definitely tried to add a village + some trees which was my original intention.

@cievers @bowen I didn't optimize at all and I'm impressed it runs as well as it does (at least the desktop version). There's some low hanging fruit that for sure can be fixed after the jam.

@skullpaca From early playtests with friends they found it too hard! I was worried that trying to make the late game more interesting would be a waste of time if everyone is stuck on the initial part. I unfortunately didn't sit down and watch anyone play and only had to go on their word. Next time I want to do some more in depth play testing so I can iron these issues out. Nice idea using the number keys to choose the level up traits!

@gamenogg Not knowing what to do is a common theme I'm noticing with other jam games I play :). It's hard to teach players how to play your game, especially when it's made in ~48-72 hours! I actually played someone else's game which did a poor job of teaching you before my game was released and that inspired me to add the instructions to the pause screen. I don't think I did the best job conveying the box around the grave and person. For one thing the person isn't dead in the instructional graphic! Ooops! The white box around the player indicating summoning also isn't clearly denoted so people probably didn't associate the box I drew around them in the instructions with it. If I had more time I would have made it so nothing spawned until you rose your first dead from the grave.

@thiago-neumann @zablas @framboisedodue @ooboob Thanks to you all and everyone else for the reviews!

i loved the cycle of gameplay. kill, rise, kill, rise, and grow an insane army! its easily addicting, unfortunately i ran into an issue with retry not working in web, but nothing stopping me from having fun with it. the capsule art is also awesome, it teleports me back to the computer lab. nice work

I love the idea that the defeated enemies are the resources to your army

Decent first game man. Nice work knowing to add sound and music, it's tough making a game by yourself so adding anything like that adds to the experience and polish. The gameplay loop was satisfying but little too easy. Good job.
