Downers, mysterious figures, are approaching the Sacred Tree with their waspswax candles of doom to perform their ritual! Assist Towners, simple yet loyal guardians of the Sacred Tree, by calling upon Sacred entities for their support!

Prevent Downers from placing 5 candles around the Sacred Tree and taking away all Towners!

GAMEPLAY

1) Hold LEFT mouse button on Sacred Fish to fill up a water drop with which the nearest Towner will splash a lit candle water throw3.gif Big splash of water will take care of them!

2) Click LEFT mouse button on Sacred Bell to protect nearby Towners from being turned by lit candles bell3.gif ...and ring of the bell brings the loopy towners back to their senses

I didn't understand how to block the summoners to go to the summon circle. When clicking on the fountains and bells it doesnt do anything (exept sounds)

I see there seems to be confusion with controls. Idea is that Downers come with candles to lit the pentagram and you need to arm the Towners with water (hold the LMB on Sacred Fish to create water) or to wake them up (click LMB on Sacred Bell) when they are turned.

It was difficult to understand in the first time but fun after, even if I didn't get how to fill multiple "drops" in the fountains and maybe the lantern clickable zone can be tricky.
The graphis and sounds are great and the atmosphere is nice :)

Enjoyable game. I really liked it, you could easily make different layouts and levels for this.
Why are there 3 drops over the fountain? I can only get 1 to appear at a time in each fountain, am I missing something?

I see top secret hint is needed: All water drops need to be filled with separate presses. This way you can have bigger water storage for Towners to fetch.

The mood in this town is really nice. It was fun to see the towners pouring whole buckets du extinguish the downers' candles :D Nice work

I did not survive until dawn, the downers were way to fast. I always die around 30-40 seconds left. One thing I didn't get: how do I get all three drops filled?

I like the combination of simple task that is filling the water, with sudden emergency task of identifying which bell to click on. It's quite neat! Nicely done.

it was fun! very nice concept and artstyle. at first i didnt notice other fish fountains and keep clicking only central :)

Cute game. I like the concept of basically supplying resources for your little towners to go and douse the candles of their arch-enemies. It took me a little while to realise I could cue up more than one water resource at each well as long as I took my mouse off the well then put it back on it to click again.

The music and sound fit the style well (although the extinguishing sound was a bit loud, perhaps).

Overall, a fun and good looking game.

Find imba bag, if hold left mouse click and move cursour to another Sacred Fish, then water be fast filed and stacked, use it :P

The first contact was pretty rough because of the difficulty of understanding whats going on. But when you're in the game its quite fun and i find the concept of runnig to someone with bucket of water is hella funny

Time presssure hits hard closer you to the end. Liked how intense you need to look after your town-folks

Was a bit confused at the start, but figured it out after reading the info once or twice. The music is nice but would have like a bit of scarier undertone. The art style is nice :)

Nice idea, songs are pretty cool. game mechanic is fun and can trigger the "ok now i have to win this" lever in your head.

I thought this was a very fun game. Nice mood :100:

It felt a bit intimidating with the wall of text in the beginning, but after a playthrough I figured it out. In the future remember that the text is the first thing the player meets so it is important that it is snappy and catchy. Maybe split it into several panes?

It was a fun play! Good job! Let's keep making games :heart:

The game is nice!
It took me a bit of time to understand that the 3 water drops needed to be prepared separately, I was holding my mouse after one waiting for the other 2 to fill wondering why the animation was not working. the music was nice and I really like the graphics!

There was not much gameplay for me, just randomly hitting the fountains and waiting for the stuff to happen.

Quite nice and balanced experience ! The music is catchy and I enjoyed how the game seemed to get harder as time passed by, even though it could maybe have been a little bit harder. Visuals were simple but cute, and audio effects in phase with the gameplay.

Really creative and engaging concept with charming graphics and a catchy soundtrack! Once I got the hang of the controls, protecting the town became addictively fun. Great job on this unique game!

In the beginning I was lost to how to move the Towners around, then I realized i just need to make sure there is enough water for the buckets and to ring the bells when I hear the sound of the Towners being under a spell.
And eventually I managed to achieve the unbelievable - no candles of the intruders in our precious home!
I love the graphics, the story and that the game is about protecting and there was no blood or that nobody was harmed. Just occasionally refreshed with water or the Downers getting disappointed for their candle being put off! Or the Towners being summoned :D
As a person who does not play games usually, I actually found this one quite sweet and fun! I really got engaged and excited!

Very relaxing music, and awesome art! One small thing I noticed that caught me off guard at first was that I was clicking the bells to activate them, but if I moved my mouse down slightly over the bell in general I got a sort of area of effect indicator that the bell proper doesn't show.

Cool game! It was simple enough to learn but felt like a challenge throughout! I wasn't able to fill a second drop on any of the fountains. It wouldn't let me after immediately after filling one, then a couple times my fill progress was reset by a villager taking the first drop. Other than that sorta glitch was a great experience!

I liked the game! Was fun! I liked the music and the graphics.

There are a few bugs with the water fountains. I think some others also mentioned some already. I tried to describe how to reproduce them. Hope that helps a little :)

1) It is possible to fill all drops immediatly by filling the first drop normally, then keep holding the mouse down and just move the mouse back and forth quickly.

2) when trying to fill the second drop normally, a villager can pick up the first drop, which interrupts the filling of the second drop.

3) I have to move the mouse away from the fountain and then back on it, before I can fill the second drop.

Very cool, art looks great, nice sound/music, and the difficulty is right in the sweet spot. I found myself skipping my attention all over and trying to decide where to invest my clicking, which I think is just what you want!

One towner confused me, sitting watching the clutch candle-walking downer, standing next to a full fountain and not doing anything! Traitor to the great tree.

If I could add one small thing to the game, it would be a little UI/SFX feedback on the state of the mouse/water interaction (mouseover, filling, done). Sometimes I would put my mouse on the water (I thought) and then assume I was filling, and use my eyes to scan the screen while waiting, only to find I was never filling, so a little confirmation fx would help that.

This one is great! I really love the gameplay and that you need to take a look at a lot of aspects/places of the game. It was a fun to play it and once I understand that the water is REALLY important and also the bell is REALLY important too, it was doable :)

Something about the townies and downers having a battle with no violence is adorable. The game is a nice difficulty for the jam. Quick, but I enjoyed playing. Good job!

@thecritterscove Thank you for the appreciative comment! In the beginning of our design session we basically started with an idea of conventional battle with hitting and violence.
