controls are pretty hard to work with.

This is such a cute entry! I really liked the vibe.

The controls are a bit hard, I think thats mostly due to walljumping being a bit finnicky. I think the character needs some extra stick to the wall - I kept pushing away from the wall early in anticipation but then wouldn't wall jump at all.

Really think it's a great entry though

love the controls, they were difficult but interesting. honestly, the frustrating platforming from the controls fits in with the retro style.

music is great too!

What I could see of the game was awesome, unfortunately I wasn't able to progress at all because I couldn't get used to the controls.

I love low-pixel games like these! I actually found the finnicky controls kind of fun. Super satisfying when you have a good run. Good job! ♥

Cool game! after i understood the dive mechanic it got more fun.
Sometimes i got a lot of screen shake which was a bit dizzying.
other than that i enjoyed it a lot! Good job!

Movement seems a bit too slippery and the jump is a bit tricky, but in the end you can get used to the controls. Graphics and Music are amazing, really enjoyed it. I kinda got confused with "pick up items" cause there are a lot of objects that stand out, but in the end you can only pick up backpack (or something that looks like a backpack/bag)
In the end, a job well done and well played. Kudos to you :)

i loved the motion in this game. that level of control is impressive for a compo entry. Things didn't feel totally tight.. i wished i could change direction faster.
Great job!

That's some pretty tight platforming! That dive mechanic and the way you gain momentum kinda reminded me of the old Sonic games. Nice job!

I'm going to have to agree with the other people who say the controls don't quite feel right. I think it has to do with the walljumping code - I seem to bounce off the walls a lot when I don't mean to. It unfortunately makes the game very difficult to control, but the presentation values from the visuals and music were both very well done! I'd be interested to see how fun the game will be once the controls are tightened up a little bit

Tight game, feels really polished. I do think some leniency with some of the timings would help it feel more fun to get into. Very cute looking too, great job

Wow! This was hard, but I couldn't stop, and I'm glad I didn't! The ending was hilarious... I enjoyed the music, but what really blew me away more than anything else was the main character. I have never seen such a tiny sprite animated so fluidly and with so much character! Amazing game, great job!

Solid platformer! Congrats you with the amazing job!

Most players will probably find it more convenient if jumping and wall bouncing are triggered by *just pressing* a button rather than holding it down.

However, it's possible to get used to the current controls!

This game is challenging! I enjoyed getting better at the movement mechanics as I traversed the level, and although I got lost/confused a few times, generally I made my way through the level pretty well! I love seeing collectables and timers in gamejams, really encourages people to play through the games a few times to perfect the play. Cute graphics and audio.

Difficult but fun. I really liked the pixel art style here. Well Done.

Coudln't get through this. Loved the style, the idea, the gameplay, and whilst it took me a while to get used to the heavy momentum, it lacks the affordances to enter a real flow state. Accidentally missing wall jumps kills all inertia, either by pulling away too late or too early and just bouncing into a dead freefall. It wouldn't take much to make this feel amazing with a little bit of walljump buffering and the grip equivelent of coyote time.

I'm a sucker for PICO games. I should have read the description before I started because I didn't realize what my goal was. I don't think Buttress mean female butler, but I also use the term anytime I get the chance, so I can't blame you.

All in all kinda fun. The music was very intense and really set the theme.

Great color and pixel work, the movement is smooth, unless you are bouncing off a wall, which I found to be far too punishing. It really took away from the fun of trying to parkour around and even just learn the movement tech. Wall jumping only works at a stand still it seems like? Either way congrats on completing a smooth playing entry!

everything is cool, art, animation and music but i'm sorry if i'm dumb but I can't do the wall jump and therefore go beyond the bottom of the screen, it's frustrating because it looks cool... it reminds me of the wall jump in super metroid.... too bad for Me

Nice parkour game. I'm not fond of getting bounced back after hitting wall by rolling but I guess that's the caveat of rolling.
Nonetheless, good work on making this.
