**A message we can all get behind! Power to the veg-man!**

Played all three portals. Missed the pumpkin seeds the first time round :(

Some thoughts:
- Wasn't 100% clear what the Potato's ability was... just a stronger carrot?
- Would be nice to have some kind of ending.
- It would be good to have platforms that are reachable only with the pumpkins in the first two levels, would give a reason to replay the levels.
- Probably needs a limit on the amount of veg you can hold - i had so many the text broke.
- Classic Jam Game floaty platformer jump, forgiveable but not a joy to control.

Quite liked the combination of farming and combat. Time still passes on the farm whilst you're away.

Most importantly, no game-breaking bugs!

Good work for two days!

To plant and cultivate my soldiers is a good idea. This one can be expanded a lot.

Veg-man and I could be friends :D nice game. some sfx or music would help. I like the concept of farming your own minions and the mechanic was well implemented

I like the concept, but I think it'd make more sense if plants were only growing when you completed a level. I seems a bit boring to just have to wait for plants (I know you don't HAVE to, but you feel like you do).

The jump feels very float-y.

I really like the look of the main character.

I can see this being expended into something really cool, if you worked a bit on the platforming part.
The idea and fantasy of going out into the world through portals to collect new seeds while your army is growing, is very appealing.

I knew the veggies would rebel someday! That was a fun game. I did get stuck on some block edges and other beings (enemies and veggies) at times. It was easy to get unstuck, but it made the gameplay a bit clunky. All in all, this was a great entry. Nice job!

Funny concept! I liked the mechanics and gameplay loop. Platforming and level design could use some polishing, I think, but everything works so that's great :D good job!

it's an interesting idea. I jumped from a height and got into the forbidden part of the level. i thought i found the secret, but it turns out it was a bug ahaha

Hey, fun idea and an interesting mashup of farming and platforming. Would have loved some music or sounds. Some feedback:

- the character controller was a little floaty and often got stuck on the corners of platforms,
- if I placed seeds too quickly in the farming area they'd clump together and then fall through the ground,
- a couple of times I summoned a bunch of veggies (particularly in level 1)and they'd get in each other's way and get stuck in a back and forth changing direction loop, meaning that I basically couldn't walk any further.
- in the third level I got stuck between an enemy, a pumpkin and the lip of a platform. It wall hacked me through the wall and I ended up inside the level and unable to complete it without a game restart.

Nice concept, reminded me of Atomicrops. Not sure how many carrots I need to defeat the flame thrower guy. I just jumped over him at the end  Good entry!

Even though I was told that I shouldn't go to level 3 without pumpkins, I thought that I'm strong enough, I have lots of carrots! ^^ What a fool I was  Very nice job for a compo and for a first jam, my first entry was nowhere near as polished as yours, congrats, it was! :)

That was very challenging. I planted lots of extra carrots and had over 80 before I realized that I only needed a few to get through the fights.

Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare! Doing any sort of game jam is a huge feat, hope you keep it up and i look forward to seeing more games from you in the future.

Pretty unique and fun. I liked the pixel graphics. I did notice that sometimes my vegetables disappeared into walls.

Got stuck going through the third portal without a pumpkin. There should either be a portal back or the third portal should be unreachable until you get pumpkins. The warning text just isn't enough for some of us idiots.

Anyway, a rather unique take on the theme, a combination of planting and platforming. The hippy main character looks great.

The central idea here is great. I definitely see a lot of potential for a larger game here. The graphics and mechanics were impressive considering the time constraints. The moment-to-moment gameplay is a little too slow but there's a lot of potential here. Great job!

Nice entry. Planting/harvesting the seeds to gain abilities was an interesting take on the theme. I made it to the end with only using the pumpkins as you can just jump over all the enemies, so maybe tweaking the jump height or enemy height would make using the abilities more essential?

One other thing I noticed is the UI sometimes covers the platforms you're jumping to. Perhaps making it slightly translucent would help?

Regardless, I enjoyed playing it and can see good potential in the mechanics. Great job!

@flying-dog-fish I already implemented a portal back from levels in my version, but have to wait until the jam ends because its a new mechanic 😅. Thanks for the feedback.

Fun game with some very interesting/fun summons ;-). Releaseeeee the carrot ;-)!
The health bar will look better if moved on top of screen (as it is now with the transparent background it looks a little weird). The rest of UI don't have the same problem since they have background.
Nice entry!

LOVE IT! Farming mechanics are my sweet spot haha! But seriously, the idea is really good, it could be worked more, and I believe that you could have something really good to sell. Also, the character design is superb!

I like the concept, really do, and to a certain extent I think you did a good job implementing it. I do think that a bit more love in the platforming feel would make it a lot better. That along with some music and SFX. But overall, good job! :)

I enjoyed the game. It's a good concept.
Farming a lot of plants and seeing your "arsenal" grow more and more was satisfying.
I also got stuck in the last level without pumpkins. In the last level you can get stuck pretty easily if you don't have any pumpkins, a "reset" or "go back home" button would've probably helped with that.
The game could use some sound and the movement felt to floaty and slow, like others here said.
Overall I still had fun with your game.

Fun game, let me give you a few quality of life implementations that should vastly improve the game feeling:
- If there is a chance to get softlocked, make a reset/back to main hud menu.
- Getting stuck over enemies feels more like a nuisance than a mechanic. Either make it not feel like getting stuck or just get rid of it.
- Give the game an ending, even a simple "you did it" screen do wonders.
- Spare some time to make and add a couple of sound effects, it makes games feel 2 tiers above a completely mute one.

This being said, I hope to see you around next jam.

Great game, mate! I hope you can solve the little issue with the seeds. Apart from that, it's a perfect game for a jam.

What a cool game! The fact that you have to plant and summon carrots, potatoes, and pumpkins is extremely fun. The level designs are very impressive, especially considering they were done in less than 48 hours! I would love a bit more music, but that doesn't detract from the great game that it is. The character is totally charismatic. Great game!
