Thinning the Herd: A game of management by jharger

[raw]
made by jharger for LD33 (JAM)
Play a true monster; work as a manager in charge of downsizing a company division! Beware, though, that your company has a generous severance package!

"Encourage" your employees to quit, instead of getting downsized, in order to save the company money and get a big bonus!

There are so many names that I got a little lost. Getting to know the employee real job would make things easier XD
After switching so many times I didn't know if the person I was assigning to that job was working there originally. Maybe you did that on purpose to make it more challenging?
Anyway, it was a nice take on the theme, congrats on the entry!

The manager looks like Donald Trump, that's all I have to say.

i liked this!

cool concept

i love office stuff

i like that the challenging aspects are kind of obscure. like that you have to remember peoples names.

i'd like the pace to ramp up a bit more

maybe levels

cool game!

expand it to make it great!

This is a fun idea, and I enjoyed it (worryingly!). I did have a few problems though. The hint text didn’t appear for very long and reading them all was impossible, especially at the start. Also, the hint text for character at the extreme edges went off-screen for me. I was playing windowed on OS X. A lot of my herd (employees) seemed to leave or blow up(?!) almost immediately, whereas I had to move people around a lot as the game went on to try to make them leave - mostly by trial-and-error due to my hint text woes! Overall though, this is a great concept and very enjoyable - well done!
