This is a neat game. I never thought I'd read the word 'Quetzalcoatl' while going though LD submissions.

I like how you implemented the theme, the only 'space limiting' I felt was from myself, not a dead, undynamic box like I'm expecting to see a lot this LD

~~I noticed it's possible to trap the Aztec inside of the Quetzalcoatl to the point where they're occupying the same space, missed opportunity for a splash sound effect and instant restart :P~~

Great job!

@lone-wolf Thanks! Just uploaded a fix for the Quetzalcoatl and Aztec occupying the same space, however a splash sound and instant restart are a tempting addition... :)

Fun and interesting concept, I played to the end. I really liked the movement animations, getting a snake to look good moving on a grid is pretty difficult and it looks great here. I had a hard time telling if I was solving the puzzles the intended way. Because the amount of steps it takes the Aztec to move back and forth and the amount of steps it takes the Quetzalcoatl to loop back to its tail are usually different, I found myself circling back around to my tail to get the Aztec to be on the right timing somewhat often (especially in the last level).

I also got the Aztec and Quetzalcoatl to overlap in the last level on what I'm fairly certain is the newest version, though it seems to require pressing up multiple times in rapid succession:

@stevenjmiller Thanks for playing and the feedback! Some of the levels definitely feel brute force-y with getting the timing right rather than a satisfying/clever solution. Wish we spent more time making levels and less time fiddling with the Quetzalcoatl xD Good catch on the overlap bug, gotta love edge cases :)

Impressive concept with engaging gameplay! I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough to the very end. One standout feature was the remarkably well-executed movement animations of the snake – achieving smooth snake movement on a grid is no small feat, and you've nailed it here.

Very interesting game. "Snake" is not exactly the first game that comes to mind for a "genre mashup" but you made it work. Good job!

@stevenjmiller Thanks for the bug report, I think I managed to fix it!

Pretty fun game. Some later levels where hard to predict the guys movement since the snake was so long (especially without an undo button), but overrall an interesting take on the theme, always cool to see others puzzles games :)

Positively brain-bending. I didn't finish, but I enjoyed what I played. I love the combination of snake mechanics with the little Aztec guy's auto-platforming, though it did sometimes feel frustrating finding myself logjammed trying to maneuver around only for him to end up blocking my path. ^_^;

Thats a very impressive and quite cool concept! I really think you got something here that could easily be escalated into a more robust game! The mechanic is really good, the overall vibe is pretty interesting, the sounds are really pleasant to hear! Also the level designs are quite good and you managed to create quite an impressive soft and well balanced difficulty curve, something that is really dificult to manage in a context of a game jam, good job! Really nice work! Congrats!

Great combination of snake, platformer and puzzle game! I love this mash up though I had to try certain levels multiple times to complete. Then complete the next ones in single try.
This has to be one of my favorites of this jam.

Super cool concept! I really enjoyed the graphics! Good job on building a super good tutorial where you cant do anything wrong! I really love this kind of introduction. Levels are not overwhelming but some are very hard! I also like how you can arrive at the solution by trial and error over time. Well done!

Very cool game with unique puzzles, though very hard without an undo button. The visuals have a lovely style to them!

The audio is nice, but very quiet; at first I thought the game didn't have any, and only noticed it when I put my volume up a lot.

But overall excellent; clearly communicated mechanics and it's clear you understand what makes the puzzles work. Great job!

Nice game, first level would be clearer if after an invalid move, the snake shaked, instead of the whole level

I like this! I also wish there was an undo button as some of these levels are very tricky! This kind of snakebird-like puzzle game is always very interesting. I really like the graphics!

@ftz @tjm @cassowary @ryusui Thanks for the feedback -- the new Post Jam has undo.
@knexator Good call on the snake shake -- we also snuck in a fun head bang in the Post Jam build.
