Medieval Estate Manager by Astoeth

[raw]
made by Astoeth for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

bannerLD54.png The map grid is randomly generated with terrain types and few features among the grid spots. There are characters who appear during the game and they want specific spot depending on their objectives. You are the one who can manage and distribute spots to them. Make sure to let them happy with the highest score as possible.

The game is a turn per turn and you need to keep characters happy enough to reach 70 turns. Each turn, you have choice between two different shapes of terrain you will attribute to the character, a shape of terrain has the same color as the associated character you'll give terrain(s) to. You might not have the color you want, so think well when you take your decision!

Good concept - reminded me of the board game "My City", which I like.
I would add some more effect to convey the consequences of placing a tile, and make it more fun - I wanted to see those angry villagers ! :)

Upon seeing the title medieval estate manager, I couldn't help but chuckle and become instantly intrigued! 😂 The controls were intuitive, making for a super chill experience 🛀. I truly appreciate the unique concept; however, I had some trouble figuring out the optimal strategy. Oh, and those moments when I messed up and they decided to end my life? Hilariously brutal! 😆

One thing I'd love some clarity on is the 'expecting bar'. I noticed I kept receiving tiles for the pink player, but the red player's 'expecting bar' kept decreasing. 🤔

Regardless, this was an enjoyable experience and I'm eager to see where you take this game next! Keep innovating! 🚀🎮

A ideia é interessante, mas acho que ficaria melhor se não desse pra sobrepor os antigos

Cool game concept, I liked the overal art, gaging laugh made my day :DD I was a bit confused with "expecting" part (its like you expecting babies and you go for those little huts? :D). But maybe I am just no brainer, yet managed to live 34 turns :D Good job!

Really good idea, but unfortunately not really good execution. The menu doesn't explain itself well and for some reason the tilemap was shifted to left. There is potential in this game, but requires more polish.

At some moment I had 3 out of 4 persons demanding forest :)

Nice managing puzzle, but I was not able to go past around 4700 and 55 moves

Would like to have ability to highlight different types of blocks, for example highlight planes etc

Overall quite interesting and solid game, I enjoyed playing it

Quite interesting, managed to get a score of 7767 after 70 turns. I really liked how they got new demands over time, so I had to suddenly change my strategy.

Interesting concept! though it was rather hard to understand what is required from me even after I read the description. Maybe the game needs a tutorial

A good concept, but sometimes I couldn't figure out where I had already put the block and where not yet

Concept is cool indeed. Like “turned base” games where you can choose your tactics.

Nice spin on tetris, I found that the colors were not easy to understand when all mashed together, a mouse over the villager to just highlight their color would have been useful. Sometimes I just could not satisfy needs so it felt a little pointless to even try.

I liked the concept though nice job.
