CLAUSTRO by MikoCore
this is (sadly) an unfinished game jam submission, about a boy who is claustrophobic, we couldn't portray that because I had school and couldn't work full on it!! but, for my first game jam I guess it's okay!
This is also my first time doing platformer games, so it was a little bit of a challenge. all the assets were used from scratch, but small bits of the code is taken from my other game "HOPE". We got the story from the theme "Limited Space" as that subject could be reserved to tight environments which causes claustrophobia, we wanted to add elements that the player could be of help for the character, and play along as the story progresses..
All soundtracks are made by the amazing Johanum!!! :D
Uh,, the zip file is missing a lot of stuff. I don't know how to fix it
The slime and sword slashing animations are sadly not implimented yet3

When you make a platformer, don't hesitate to setup a seamless background so you don't have to worry about the background all the way through (at least on the very last layer).
Same thing for out-of-bounds, add a little position check on an axis to re-tp it somewhere close if it falls too much, so you don't have to worry about it for the rest of the project.
Carry on!
Your graphics are beautiful!
Here are few tips for making a platform games speeding the development process:
- first try to nail down the core game mechanics using just the geometry shapes or a static image as a player or enemies.
- after that add the levels with just the shapes.
- Once thats done and happy, add sounds/music.
- And finally, is to add the sprites, animations and all the juice to the game.
- Keep up the good work and keep making games.
