Night's Bastion by Sevadusk
[Important: Read Tutorial Graphics, this game can be quite challenging if you aren't aware of the mechanics] [First playthrough should ideally be either 0.1 through 3.1, then you can go ahead to the fun stuff!]
4 platforms are avialable, MAC, WINDOWS, LINUX, and WEB only on itch.io
Let me know if this is something worth continuing to build upon :D!!

Game Description!
Craft items that fit in your limited inventory, then defend lanterns of light from enemies.
Use a roguelike system to gather materials, then use those materials to craft unique weapons and items. Then use those items to defend your base. Gain control points based on damage dealt to enemies, lose control points when lanterns are attacked. If you get enough control points, you win.
Hybrid of roguelike, RPG, Hack/Slash, and Tower Defense
Controls
- Very Simple Controls, also listed in game, just left click and QWE for abilities and items.
Reflection and Credits:
This was my first Ludum Dare, but I have been doing 9 day jams called Godot Wild Jams. I was extremely satisfied with the amount of data structures, and dynamic infrastructure of the data I was able to implement. I can add new weapons, levels, roguelike upgrades, items, and mods fairly easily now, and I hope you enjoy the concept.
I keep telling myself not to over scope, especially when alone, but I can't help myself lol. Making a game of this scale alone, is extremely difficult, so I apologize for not having the art and mechanics fully polished.
I composed the music, but not for this jam, the sound effects are from free sound.
I wanted to make pixel art for each of the icons, but I didn't have time for that either. For now, praise the placeholders!

These are what levels look like:

This makes for a very interesting game, but also one that's not very readable (the graphics don't help, but it takes a lot of time, so I understand). To solve this problem on my side, I start with very simple ideas, with a good code base, and then I make it evolve when my base is ready. Start small and then have fun with the mechanics!
In terms of mechanics, it's very frustrating to have to spam click to throw the feathers, so maybe I've missed a shortcut, but if there isn't one, it might be nice to add one to throw more at once.
Anyway, the concept is cool and I hope there'll be an evolution! ^^
