Loot Goblin by Shad

Welcome to Loot Goblin!

You are a simple Goblin with a simple desire - LOOT!

Sneak into the Dragons Den (when the beast is not around obviously!) and snatch whatever your litte grabby hands can find. But Oh No! There's Limited Space in your backpack and there's so much Loot! Use cunning, guile or brute force to pack as much stuff as you can. And hold on to your Loot when it's going to get dicey! Sounds in the deep, the Dragon's coming! Run!

How to be a Loot Goblin:

  • Find shiny things in the gold heaps. Click to unsurface, Drag to pull out and put into the backpack.
  • Every item type has different value, so pick wisely.
  • Come up with your own methods of loot managment, move them about or stack them on top of each other.
  • The Space in the backpack is Limited, make as much use of it as possible.
  • The Dragon will come for its belongings.
  • Compete with other Goblins on the Leaderboard

Seems like it was reused from LD52 submission...

@prologi I did not participate in #52, nor do I know what you mean?
Do you maybe remember name of the game? (or link?)

Nice concept design, and I like the feeling of the controls, it's responsive

The leaderboard is a nice touch too

Very simple but fascinating idea, I like it. The only thing is that there were a couple of hang-ups, but then everything is fine.

Nice creativity behind the (little) idea... I like the dropping, also the shaking of the dragon etc.
On the other hand it's really short and feels like a mini game...
I'm no scorehunter and therefore feel no need to play it more then once.

In short: Good job! :)

@nomiki At first we actually planned some campaign mode, with possibility to spend what you carried out on backpack upgrades, but you know - time limitations :D In the end we decided to polish a core gameplay, and not risk overextending

Great game, I really liked the graphics and audio. The small objects make the game more challenging due to the size of the hitbox.

I love the goblin voice lines, awesome job. The game is really fun and I like how you guys added a leaderboards screen, you don't see that very often. Overall great entry!

The dragon stole my loot! Neat idea though, never thought about the goblin's perspective before!

This is a cool concept! I really like the object and backpack physics. I think I'd love to see this done with a pixel or cartoony art style, rather than realistic. Lots of custom art work etc..! I wasn't such a huge fan of the voice acting though. It was super exciting to play though, especially at the end when the fire breath ravages the entire treasure chamber!!

Nice game, but the voice gets a little annoying after some time due to the frequency that its used and the game has some heavy slow downs after some time. Overall cool game

I'm the guy who forced you to use the "loot-goblin-2" url :'( Sorry!
Neat idea, had fun, and funny voice acting, even if sometimes a bit immersion breaking! :D
I ran a few times, but couldn't reach really high scores. Maybe it would be cool to somehow see the values of objects. So I could estimate on their size and value if they are worth it or not. :) Keep up the good work, cheers! :)

I found the game to be very engaging. The idea is excellent, and if you continue at this pace, you'll surely establish yourself as a professional

Well, it’s a cool idea, although at the end of the game there were severe bugs due to the fact that the physics were not set to “continuous”, as it seems to me, some things fell out).

23. Oct 2023 · 08:08 UTC
@paulsams it was set to continuous, and every other contermeasure I could think of was also applied, but sometimes some items just refuse to stay in place :/
