Being alone in space can be frightening, especially when it's collapsing in on itself. The universe is infested with vicious creatures thirsty for blood and you are no exception for them. Being the Void Hunter, your objective is to scavenge planets and collect valuable weapons, armors and items to upgrade your arsenal before facing the mighty Black Hole. As the Big Crunch is approaching, planets will fall behind your path, leaving you with harder and harder options to explore. At the end of your journey, you will have to enter the mighty Black Hole and face the hardest dungeon of your life. Clearing all the enemies will grant you a new life in another universe.
Void Hunter is the last of the universes guardians, who protect it from harm. But as the Big Crunch is occurring, he is trying to save humanity, by getting through a wormhole in the middle of a black hole and bringing with him a lot of human embriose, who could be the next humanity in just a few centuries, when he succeeds by bringing them to a new part of the multiverse.
Controls - Movement: [WASD] or [Arrows] - Pick Up / Open Chest: [E] - Attack: [Left Click] - Exit from Inventory: [Click Out] - Exit game: [Esc]
This game was made completely from scratch. We have only used public path finding library made by Aron Granberg. Everything else, including graphics, music and code was made by us in these 3 days.
This is a rogue like inventory management action strategy game. We are two 18 years old developers from Hungary. We have been a part of Ludum Dare's community over 3 years. Sadly this is only our 3rd Ludum Dare, but we really enjoyed the creation of the game. We worked day and night to make this happen and we hope you will enjoy playing it. We are very proud of this game, because this game has a lot of content already and we almost couldn't finish, however we have a lot of ideas for improvement and we will likely develop it further. We want to add a skill tree, more enemies and items and a boss fight in place of the Black Hole level.

Fun progression with better equipment.
Tutorial could have been better. Took me some time to figure out stuff. Okay though :)
This was chaotic af.
I wished I cool fight properly but yeah hitting with the stick is really hard :/
The hitbox of the weapon is a mistery for me
But these problems aren't that bad to deal with and I liked the, which and actually had me playing a few rounds.
Still, a clearer hitbox in the attack would do wonders.
The combat is ok but could benefit from slightly better visuals and feedback. Now it is quite hard to get a sense of your range and when you are hitting the enemies. Also, getting hit is hardly noticeable and I often just suddenly died without realising it. The player health bar is quite hard to read since it is not apparent which color is a fill and also it rotates with the player sprite - making it quite confusing to read.
But overall, the basic game loop is there and it is fun! The art is definitely the standout of this game - it is very well done!

Anyway, I think there is a lot to explore if you decide to continue developing this game. Like different enemies depending on the planet you choose and the difficulty. Or maybe different maps. Very solid submission! Well done :D
not sure what's happening, or if I'm doing something wrong, but the game keeps freezing on this screen when I open the inventory. if it's a bug and you know about it or if you know what I'm doing wrong @ me if you have a solution :smile: I'll refrain from voting in the mean while since that does not seem fair
