Took me a moment to figure out what's happening, but then it was nice. I think the gameplay may be too repetetive. I really like the graphics, everything looks very smooth and the music too, but I see that you've opted out of it.

Plays like strange skull blackjack, which is in all ways a compliment. I've always wanted to play weird skull blackjack!

Thanks a lot!!! I feel the repetitiveness too. I wish to add more buffs and multipliers to skull tiles to vary the gameplay or perhaps allow players to choose more buffs at the end of each round. But we all know how it goes, 48 hours for a game is ridiculous!

Took me a while to get in, but after I did, it was very fun! I'm not sure if there's a bug or if the font is just unclear, but in the beginning it seemed like the cost and the number of space left didn't correspond, which made everything very confusing.

Amazing artwork/style! This is an interesting take on the theme and love the risk/reward mechanics of the "buff building". Overall great work and solid entry!

Awesome work, very neat style and indeed is quite the polished game! I can see so many options to expand upon it too, with additional mechanics as the base is so solid! Marvelous work! :v:

Awesome! Great graphics and sounds! I needed a minute to figure out the mechanics, but once I got it figured out the game was super fun!

It's a nice simple game with minimalistic cute art. I knew from the get go what to do instinctively, so I thought that was a good thing. Overall good mood ^^

I feel like I got further by just playing blackjack before I knew what any of the stats actually meant.

Outstanding level of polish on this. It's pretty fun as is, but I agree with the other comments that some variation, added modes or something would give it a boost.

Great mini-game ! The interface is especially well-made and satisfying to use and navigate in, except for one big thing for me, which is that I spend quite some time trying to decipher the purpose of each component around my card, as the hint text on the top right corner is way too small, imho. Also, I feel like the theme has been kinda let down..? The "spaces" that are limited here and that are the economy you spend, are just named this way to justify the theme but that's not enough for me I'm afraid.

But overall, really smooth and well-polish game :)

Funny simple gameplay. I like the "stop or again" mechanism.

A bit repetitive avec 5 or 6 mobs. I missed some special cards, combos, ...
And perhaps also different upgrades than just the avalailable space.

Not a big fan of the art (my taste..), but it's neat. I missed sfx also, just to give a bit of rythm to the game and the actions

Interesting roguish kinda cardgame, good job! The UI and design is on-point, except for one part:
I didn't see the indication of which icons meant what in the top right for my first couple runs! Might be worth adjusting the size on that to match the size of the icons on the cards

You've nailed the difficulty pretty well imo, it's exactly the right kind of tricky

I like these kinds of "press your luck" style of gameplay ^^

I really liked this game and your interpretation of the theme. It also took me a second to figure out what the symbols and skulls meant but it wasn't too hard to. I LOVE the graphics! Everything is cohesive and very visually appealing. The characters are so cute and the floating stars really add to the ambience. Such a great compo entry!

Thanks to everybody for all the feedback. I've added a big image with stats descriptions at the top of this page to help new players understand the stats more easily. I'd love to invest more time in improving the onboarding and making the beginning more user-friendly. Thanks once again! ❤️

I like the aesthetics. For GameJam time it looks amazing.
And it also takes me some time to understand the rules and stats. Label with stats in top right corner helps, but I've noticed it on 3rd enemy))

I've done several runs and it was fun. At some point it feels like you are fully in hands of RNG.

Fancy graphics, all the creatures look so funny and expressive. Plotting against my enemies offered me a great amount of fun

I have to say, this is a very polished game for a game jam. The graphics are great, minimalist and easy to understand. I like the characters as well, they certainly have personality. I think it could benefit from some more audio, though the music was nice.

Well polished game! Well done! I was able to vanquished 7 enemies on my best run. The only think I'm not sure why would it matter is opponents selection. Is there a reason to not always go for the lowest one? Good job with the game, it was fun to play!

Thanks! In the lower levels, stats are intentionally lower, allowing you to accumulate more health and shield from buffs. However, it was challenging to balance it quickly, and it might be too RNG-based, as another comment mentioned. Since I'm into card mechanics, I'll definitely explore more angles and aim to make future card games less random. 😄
