Paper Pile Panic by Stellar Lily
Greetings, Intern.
Manage your workplace through an endless stream of tasks. Your desk might look small, but that's the best we have.
Do your job right or else you'll get fired.
Good luck.

Controls
- Click and drag to organize documents
- Click to focus on a document
- Press A on your keyboard or the cross to defocus
- Follow the instruction on the document to complete the task
- Destroy this paper to start the day
Tips and tricks
- For math operations, checking the last digits of the numbers is generally enough!
- None of the tasks implemented in this Jam game require shredding the paper - everything goes in the sorting bin on the corner of the desk.
Known issues
Dragging performance might be slow. A Windows build of the game is provided to help with performance, but weaker machines may not handle dragging well even on the Windows build.

Unfortunately i have bad calculation skills.. so i got fired at day 3 with these difficult tasks.
Gameplay wise, the biggest improvement that you could make is to add a bit of snapping to the pages. While the completely free movement is at the core of the game, pages got stuck on the edges of the stack or the shredder a bit too frequently. The tasks themselves were super funny and I could see them being easily expandable.
Regarding the theme, the space on the table never felt really limiting, the tasks may just as well have been placed in a queue. I'm not too sure how this could be fixed, perhaps by requiring a flat surface to fill them out?
Not sure on this, but I honestly think the theme is secondary to making a cool game and you efinitely succeeded in that! I fully expect this to be the funniest game I will see in this Jam, thank you so much for the experience!
- @amygeddon, regarding the camera getting stuck: we were aware of this bug but forgot to fix it in time. Just pushed a fix so that the camera returns to its neutral position should the paper get destroyed.
I enjoyed the art style and the clever choices for the tasks.
I did have some issues when pages landed on top of each other, when I tried to complete one it would just change focus to the other and not remain on the top page.
Overall I really enjoyed this game, plenty of scope to increase its size should you choose to.
The only minor gripes I have is that there were a lot of duplicate math questions, and it did feel a bit jarring to have to click a specific spot to exit instead of just clicking on the desk
(As far as boring tasks go, it was very fun)
~top 25% in roughly every category is something that makes me really happy, as making games really is just a hobby at this point in my life, but it's something I really enjoy doing whenever the chance comes up
