There is a new updated version of the game with some bug fixes and UI improvements, please play and rate the original version for the game jam and play the other one for a smoother experience, thanks!

Our first game jam as a team, was such an enjoyable, fun, tiring, frustrating, over the top experience, thanks Ludum Dare for the great jam, excited for the next one!

We started with a 2d hoarding style game that quickly overscoped ourselves into essentially a dumbed down version of the sims builder ;)

Ethan did all the 3d modelling and texturing. Alana did all the coding and menu set up.

Sorry for the bugs, we tried to iron them all out but there are definitely a few kicking around.

Wow!It is amazing how well your detection works for placing things. I was constantly impressed with how well the decorating worked. Fun idea to make the furniture pieces random. It really kept things interesting as I was excited to see what might come out next.

Hello!! I found this experience quite enjoyable, I didn't quite finish the kitchen and everything is on the floor. I expected I would be given the items back that I didnt place by the end and was a little sad that my toilet was lost forever. How did you even manage to model thing many things in the time, I would go crazy.
The controls were mostly good except, backspace didnt feel very nice in the layout, but knowing now that you can just lose stuff I feel a bit better about it being difficult. It would be nice if there were more light sources so part of the house was not just shrouded in darkness.
Good game, well done!

This was fun to mess around with. No complaints. Not what I'd usually consider a "game" but nothing against that. Really cool. For some reason the image uploading isn't working rn :( I stacked a bunch of refrigerators on top of each other it was funny.

You can add a ludum dare tag to your game on itch - and when doing so it asks the url from here, so it will link this page from over there (I say this because I got the itch link first, then I had to guess the LD url to come here)

I really enjoyed this game. Just placing furniture down to build your dream room. Its just so relaxing and chill. Great submission guys and great work!

It's always good to see relaxing, creative games in the jam! After making my room I somehow got the camera stuck underground facing the sky, so no screenshot unfortunately :( The 3D placement works well and there's tons of assets too - nice job!

@thealexwolf you can duplicate objects by pressing space while hovering over them, a shame, it would have been awesome to see your finished dorm room! Thank you for playing!

I had a great time playing this. My style of game, cosy and you can really get into making a space your own. Loved the random furniture mechanic that had me so keen to see what was gonna come next. Had me dreaming of putting art on the walls. The level of detail on the assets and how they changed depth to be placed wherever I wanted was very impressive!

All in all a pretty smooth playing experience (I did think that creating flying furniture was hilarious). Found that it was difficult to get things to line up how I wanted and my OCD had me pivoting between Q and E for ages trying to get it level 😂

Pretty happy with my final creation!
