EVILATOR
========
The Evil Elevator Operator
==========================

Starring you! On a mission to be the least efficient elevator operator. Annoy your passengers by taking them for a ride. Unleash the inner monster by taking the longest trip possible!

The rules are pretty simple:
- if you go to a floor you will pick up and drop all applicable passengers
- you can go to any floor there is someone to pick up
- you can go to any floor where a passenger in the elevator wants to go
- you can't pass by a floor without dropping passengers along the way

Doors you can go to are highlighted.

Keys:
1 through 0 to go to the corresponding floor
M - toggle music on/off
S - toggle sounds on/off

Mac build is untested.

Made by:

Really creative idea, and well-executed. Only thing is I sometimes couldn't tell when I would be allowed to go to certain floors. If two passengers want to go to different floors, sometimes I would be forced to go to one or the other floor first, which might cut down on my inefficiency. Also, sometimes it seemed like I could go pick up other passengers when I already had one, and other times it seemed like I had to go drop my current passenger off first. These two issues might have to do with the destination floor being between my location and my desired destination, but I wasn't able to figure out the rules quickly.

I love it. Nice take on the theme and really well executed. Quite tricky, made me go back to levels to try and beat my score.

I really like the reversing of the usual puzzle game requirement for efficiency.

I love everything about this game from its concept to its shitty music. Out of all the games I have played and rated this is the worse monster out of all of them!

I hope this one does really well!

Good interpretation of the theme! Elevator music fit the overall theme of your game well. Took me a bit to figure out how to max out the evil meter, but I figured it out after a few tries. Good entry!

The elevator operator is a jerk. He went by my floor 6 times before picking me up! :p

Really neat, and fun idea. It's tricky trying to wrap your brain around inefficiency instead of the usual efficiency.

Overall a good game. Interesting concept, perhaps there is a larger game with multiple elevator banks, and trying to be a huge pain when you know one of the passengers is late for a meeting. Few odd bugs here and there; mostly where floors that should have been activated for me to go to were not available. Had fun. Loved the music, was very creepy.

Brilliant! This is one of the most original takes on the theme I've seen so far, and the music just gives the perfect touch of evil.

Awesome entry, great job!

Great well executed! Animations feel like I'm in control of a demonic elevator!

Audio felt a bit unbalanced between the cheerful 'ding' and the demonic music.

Really well done puzzle game. I really like the feel of the game and how it fit the theme. I think something that could really make the game a little better would be some small animations from the passengers to show their anger. Overall a really well made game. Nice job!

Very nice game !
Everything is good but the music.
I think it's very noisy and make it harder to concentrate on the game, even if, i can tell that, it exactly fit to the ambiance :D

Good work.
And thanks for your comment on our game !

Very tight, I never managed to fill up my monster bar all the way. Truly I have a long way to go...

This is a great concept. I liked the puzzle aspect of it, although I would also have enjoyed more of a "sandbox" mode that let me go to any floor I wanted and would, from time to time, give me more people without "resetting". Then maybe they'd get irritated after a while and use the stairs instead or get out at the wrong floor.

Over all, really awesome execution and concept!

Really cool idea, I think I would've gone with 9 floors as 10 being 0 was a little jarring. Other than that this is a unique and interesting take on the theme, good work :)

Really neat concept. As others said, it's a little confusing sometimes when you have multiple passengers why certain floors could not be reached.

Great art and sound. Well done!

This was a very excellant game! Definitely on of my favorite games in the Ludum Dare thus far. I love the elevator music, the art style is so clean and polished, the humor lies within the evil success of annoying our passengers to the breaking point! 10/10!

Hahahaaha! Love the idea! :D

I would have loved if the numpad keys would work :)

Great sound and graphics, good juice, this is a great little distraction :) Are the levels procedural? If so, are they pre-solved? Or utterly random?

So interesting :) Touch controls, ship it!

Nice idea, I guess with better graphics and music - it could be really really cool game!

Love the idea but don't get how to play bad: every time no matter what it's evilated or even monsterated.
Overall it's a good game. You should do a port for mobile devices.

P.S. I got an elevator monster too! They are pure evil!

Great idea, executed nicely.

It would be interesting to see this game on touchscreen devices, with tapping rather than pressing numbers.

Very innovative idea. Would have loved to see the people become "Monsterated" but overall the mood was spot on, reminded me of Tower of Terror. Also, I don't know if the white inside the elevator was on purpose, but it gave an eerie, unknown feel to it. Well done!

Interesting idea, and it's cool to see something different than the typical "you're a monster in a platformer game" take.

Good, unique idea. Got a little bit repetitive and I got confused when I picked up passengers only to have some options suddenly removed, but otherwise the game was really good.
