Space! Ltd. by Boyar

Welcome to "Space!" Ltd.
You are an engineer working for Space Ltd., A company responsible for the foundation of the first human colony on Mars. Your job is to construct facilities out of various units that will help others live and work in these conditions.
Place units on a hexagonal grid in a specific shape to make a building, then "hand it in" by using an appropriate blueprint.
There's a catch though: since it's the first project of this kind and scope, the space for placing modules is very limited, so fitting all the necessary tiles on a grid may be a huge challenge!

The key is to adapt and think carefully. Will you be able to beat all the challenges, including the bonus ones?

Controls:
Use LMB to pick up units (top window) and blueprints (the windows on the left and on the right) and drop them on the grid. Use RMB to rotate elements after picking them or in the window directly.

My only feedback is about the balance between sounds and musics wich seems quite unbalanced.
But above all, my favorite entry so far !
The thing I like that most is that the player is able to solve blueprints one by one in any order they wish. It gives a really neat tactical layer to the game when the player is constantly scanning the available pieces and then trying to figure out what blueprints they should try to form next. When there were only a few blueprints left, I was hoping to get a better understanding of what kind of pieces could come next. Not entirely sure how I would implement this but a better knowledge of the stack of pieces would be cool.
Overall, this is a really solid package. Impressive jam game!
(@vidu) sound design was a really late afterthought and was implemented near the *three-hours-left* mark , so it's a bit rubbish 😅. Hope sound toggles helped to ease the pain
(@arachnid56) (@akitl) (@nash) It was our goal for this jam to make it as understandable and polished as we could, so your feedback means alot!
(@fizzbark) You are so right... We tried to to implement a *balanced-not-random* color distribution of colors, but kinda run out of time and had to scratch that idea. Looking forward to do go back to it on the pastjem week when i'm rested enough 🙃
I love your art style !! GG
I did get somewhat frustrated at level 3, as I'm red / green colorblind so I had to click each pattern every time to see what it contained. A small icon would have been a big help.
(@jon-curtin) So glad to see a fellow Space ltd. developer on board!
(@bytomancer) Our worst fears were realized - game was played enough to get a colorblind gamer(tragic). My brother asked me around the time we were pushing "submit button" - *WAIT are we even accesable for colorblinde ppl???* It somehow haven't stuck any of us that we literaly have just colored hexes as ui. So yeah, that's a bummer, so we made a hotfix the next day jam was over, one day too late. Thank you so much for the feedback and sticking with the frustrating hell of cheking the buildings regardless. I assure you in the postjem version we are having the nicest icons for the greatest gamers!
Also special thanks for all the streamers who played this game, seeing new random people play your game live is a really cool experiance and had me very excited to finish the project! You are an amazing community and i'm very glad to be a part of it now

Might be my lack of skill, but I did find that sometimes I seemed to pretty unlucky with the draw, and wouldn't get the pieces needed to make dynamite to clear enough space for other pieces, so I was a little stuck. Very much on theme 😅 I think you mentioned on stream though that there should always be a way to solve the puzzle from any position, so I was probably just missing something! But regardless of that, the game had that "just one more go" appeal so I kept retrying after a few failures on some of the levels and managed to make it to level five
I think this has a lot of potential to be built out into a longer game (or a board game 👀), which would allow the new tile types and mechanics to be introduced more gradually
Overall, a really nice, well polished entry with great writing and graphics that fits the theme really well and in a super fun way!
