Burger Galactic by Mals

[raw]
made by Mals for Ludum Dare 53 (COMPO)

As the ONLY fast food join in this star system. It is up to YOU to deliver the burgers* to all the planets. *There are no cows in space, these are 100% space vegan burgers!

Click anywhere on screen. The burger-launcher will attempt to shoot at the angle between your click and it.

Response to comments number 1: Thank you all for your comments! There are a ton of thing I'd like to have done to add complexity and challenge. I very easily fall victim to scope creep, and so for this Jam, the main goal was to get a fully working slice of the game working. I'd like to add all sorts of things, like levels, gravity wells, and somehow tweak the system so a burger can orbit several times before decaying into the planet, or make it possible for it to enter and exit several planets in a chain to get very far! I'd also like to make a power gauge so you can fling that burger at different strengths.

Would you like fries with that?

This was my first ever game without using a tutorial or a template! Some of the other entries are SO good and SO complete. I'm jealous, but it gives me a higher target to aim for next time.

It would have been nice to have several levels or, to have a limited number of burgers to give a little more challenge, on the other hand I really like this concept of using the attraction ;)

Super fun concept. I like having to deal with the multiple gravity wells. I also liked that in some cases I could just stack multiple burgers to try and get one of them to go in :) I think I used more burgers than you intended to feed all the requests (I'm embarassed to say how many but let's just say I fired over 100 burgers) but it was still fun the whole time :)

I enjoy how ridiculous it can become. I developed a delivery system that was so inefficient it made me feel proud. But then my next run I accidentally did it very efficient, lol. Good times.

Lol fun story, the start screen could be prettied up a bit but for the rest of the game the style works quite well. The physics in the game were fun and I enjoyed the game, even if it was just a short one. Well done

Cool concept. Too bad it's only one level. I love games where they try to use physics. Thanks for your work

Managed to get it done in 23. Good concept, you should pick this up and go further with it!

Super fun to play not gonna lie! It has been a while since I’ve played a game that was this special! The concept is simple but at the same time far from what is generally done! Good job!
I think adding some little sound effects could make it very satisfying ^^

Good job, really unique idea! Did not expect to see a delivery game with Mario Galaxy-style physics. The worldbuilding in the description about the vegan burgers made me chuckle. For next steps it could it be fun to add elements such as a limit on the number of burgers or a time limit, and add challenges like moving planets or black holes that suck up burgers.

Short but sweet. Seeing my projectile burgers weaving between planets was very pleasing.

Thank you everyone for playing the game! Next time I'ma be bigger, better, and faster! I'll also plan my time a little better.

Thanks again - Mal
