I think you waited a bit too long before introducing enemies, you could have easily introduced them in level 2 or 3. And another enemy type with maybe a different movement pattern would make a game more fun!
The only thing just wish the screen was bigger.
You did good.
As score didn't do anything, I found the optimal way to play the game was to shoot all the collectables as well. That way I was able to finish levels faster than actually collecting anything.
@imos & @drikdrok: Yeah, I couldn't figure out intuitive way to tell player to wait couple seconds on nest to submit the seeds. So this is the best way I could made in time.
@samuli: Yep, we could make more game types with OpenBoR engine. As for destroying seeds, ah yes, never crossed my mind someone would do that. Might need to figure out incentive to earn scores. Thanks for the feedback.
The gameplay works for me though I'd prefer there was a penalty that would force me to actually avoid enemies, or even just a timer that I could race against to get some sort of value for optimizing my playthrough. But on the other hand, at least I was able to finish the game. 😅
That being said - and I know it's a limitation of the engine - it would be great to have a web build available as well. You can look into OpenBOR-WASM or something like that, though I'm not sure how viable it is.
Congrats on the finished game!
Overall, it's a really cool game for one person. Good luck with the jam!
