Dust Collector Testing Facility by Jcourt

This is a not very good game where you play as a not very good robot vacuum.

Robot Vacuum.png

You're not a very good robot vacuum because you do not have brakes. The game is not particularly good because I have to work monday morning, and also because I spent around 8 hours figuring out how to make a usable SoundFont out of an audio clip of a vacuum cleaner, and then playing several pieces of classical music with it.

I'm particularly interested in feedback on the last 2 levels (C1 and C2), as well as the use of the music (I opted out of Audio because I did not compose the music, but I did spend a lot of time modifying it and trying to make it work in the game).

When the vacuum started playing the entertainer, I was cracking up... when it eventually switched to vacuums playing Stars and Stripes Forever, I was officially and completely sold.

A fun little game with a lot of personality!

Ok the toggle between the original version of the songs and your... inspired take on effecting them made me laugh (honestly I think you should've opted in to audio for your versions haha.) The level select screen being in-world was a nice touch. The fake-out (unsure if it was intended or not) in C2 where you go down the [first] long hallway and it's not the end was awesome. Pretty solid effort all around. If you ever work on it more I'd love to play it or help test!

I like that your character moves pretty quickly. This game could easily be tedious if you were waiting seconds between inputs, but as it is I rarely found myself waiting for long.

The music is... kind of incredible, actually.

Being able to softlock yourself in room A2 is rather unfortunate. On the other hand maybe I should just get good - it was a completely predictable outcome of my own actions. Sucks to suck and all that.

Levels C1 and C2 seem pretty well designed to me - an appropriately-sized increase in difficulty and complexity for the final levels. It seems like you don't have to interact with most of the west wing of C1? That's not a big deal, though.

Nice puzzle game. I preferred the button levels to the arrow levels because the arrows were sometimes tricky to time. C1 and C2 felt less tight than the earlier levels. The As and Bs were great, and the first few levels used the basic mechanics well. The arrows in the last room of C2 were a bit annoying. Also, the 8 hours on the music were well spent.

Wow, that's a very decent entry!

Liked the music and the puzzles, decently complex, sometimes got stuck but got out of it eventually.

This game could be good for a mobile device, too.

BANGER! Maybe I got weird taste but this is easily one of my favorites. The music is not only funny but I was jamming out to it doing these puzzles. C1 is well designed and I really like having to go back and wait on the pads on C2. It's the right amount of waiting and all the puzzles really feel well put together. Really nice job, this game got personality and I was smiling the whole time

It has some issues but it was fun... I played it into end. Level C1 was best.. Level C2 could have been to levels :)

Waiting for the spinners to turn made me yearn for a mute button. The buttons+doors has a lot of interesting potential to create beautiful puzzles which we get a good glimpse of.

I enjoyed the complexity of C1 and C2. You established the mechanics really clearly in the earlier levels, so it felt like an appropriate level of challenge. Super fun game, adorable robot vacuum!
