๐Ÿฟ๏ธ Description

Winter is coming! You are a little squirrel living deep in the woods, racing against the seasons to gather enough food before the snow arrives. Explore the forest, collect nuts, leaves, and berries, and bring them back to your cozy nest. Each season brings new colors, challenges, and surprises โ€” until the long, cold winter tests your preparation.

Can you hoard enough to survive?

๐Ÿ•น๏ธ Features

๐ŸŒณ Seasonal Cycle: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

๐Ÿพ Platformer Exploration: Run, jump, and dash through hand-drawn forest environments.

๐Ÿ‚ Collect & Craft: Gather resources to upgrade your nest โ€” build baskets, racks, and insulation.

โ„๏ธ Survival Challenge: When Winter comes, no more collecting โ€” survive on what youโ€™ve stored!

๐Ÿ’พ Local Progress: Your cozy forest life is saved automatically between sessions.

๐Ÿ’ก Inspiration

The idea came from the Collector theme โ€” but instead of collecting treasure, you collect what really matters: warmth, food, and comfort. Forest Hoarder combines the calm of cozy games with the tension of limited time โ€” a tiny woodland survival tale made with love (and too much coffee).

Just love that art style. A bit buggy what about programming, well, with some polishing should be a tremendously great project. But your arts are just astonishing :D Well developed!

Cute idea. I don't know which assets are from you or not tho, given that most of the UI are free assets. You should enter the jam category if you whish to use free stuff found on the web (combo is hand made only). Either way, the mood is nice!

I like the concept and the hand drawn art is very charming. Just feels very awkward to play because of the lack of smoothness in the movement and the animations. I was going to say there is a lack of any risk element, but I guess thats not neccesarily a problem if you are going for an Animal crossing relaxing feel of just enjoying collecting stuff and building up your little world, but you really need a nice feel for that to work. As pointed out before though, I feel like for Compo category you should really only be using assets that are made by yourself in the time. Using third party music or other stuff, is fine, but should just be in the Jam category and be clear about what is yours or not so folks can rank appropriately. Anyway, anything with cute squirrels is fine by me. :chipmunk:

Cute art! The gameplay itself seems a bit unpolished, like the fact you can just stand by the closest tree and spam e to get your items.

Cute art, and an ambitious & interesting idea ! I unfortunately didn't experience multiple seasons as it was too choppy, and I feel (but I could have just made a mistake) that the upgrades don't actually work, but I _do_ like the idea of a cycle of collecting/consuming/upgrading.
