In Artifact Hunter your goal is it to collect the most precious artifacts in the galaxy. Others will envy your wealth and try to fight you for your artifacts.

Can you find the 5 Legendary Artifacts?

I recommend turning Sound Volume Up to the maximum. It turned out a bit quiet. Controls and Tutorial are explained ingame.

A small bug i could not fix in time was the bar that displays your wealth. The numbers are correct, but the bar does not reflect that.

This game is a great baseline. I love games like this with progressive upgrades that let you go out and do better and better. The multiple hardpoints for guns on my ship were fun, leading to an interesting addition to the tactics of the combat. I did find myself wishing that the enemies ramped up faster, I quickly got to the point where they were dying before I saw them on screen for more then a moment, and I never was swarmed by several of them.
Something is up with the audio in this game. You are correct that the sounds are a bit quiet in most of the game, I could barely tell there were sounds, however every time I clicked a button that (I assume) changed scenes it slammed me with a blast of sound for a moment. Because of that I had to turn it down all the time so I didn’t get to tell how well the sounds fit the game.
Overall I thought this was a good bit of fun, well done!

The idea for the game is excellent. The graphics were good. It is extremely difficult to kill another ship, at least for me it was.

The game is a very good beginning for something nice.

@smilewood Thank you for the review. I only had about an hour left at the end to put in some sounds so it didn't come out so well. As usuall i overscoped very much. So enemy balancing was a bit eyeballed. I didnt want to make them too strong, but they could have used a bit more health at least.

16665? The end game lacks variety, but otherwise a pretty cool game. Spent way to much time on this at this time of the day.

Cool game! I really like collecting stuff from enemies and selling them for upgrades. This idea could be expanded on a lot (More ship building mechanics would be awesome). Great job!

Cool game, but it would be nice to be able to fight to the end or have a button to return to the base — right now it feels like a “press start button” simulator :) Also, when two enemies appear, you can still only collect the reward from one of them.

@melomaner you can press resume after collecting one reward then you can collect the other, but yes that display could be better.

Nice game! I got to 15138 wealth with 5 different red artifacts, but I am unsure if there is any content beyond that.

I think it would be fun if progression through levels wasn't just increase in numbers (damage number and number of enemies) but also unlocked some new gun types or new game mechanics. Otherwise, it feels a little bit too repetitive.

Another idea is to add a button to pull things towards you so you don't have to turn around to grab loot every time.

Also, there is a bug if you try to buy a weapon while having a weapon installed already. You lose your money and your weapon. 🥲

And I had the same issues with audio as comments above (played in Firefox)

@woona i wanted to add more weapons and different enemies, but i ran out of time. The whole system was made so i could easily swap out enemies and weapon. Up to 8 weapons per ship etc, but yeah. Overscoping.

Interesting start to a fun little shooter. It did take me a bit of adjustment to get used to aiming. The amount of drag on the weapons moving to line up with the reticle is an interesting touch, gives the game some friction. Good stuff. I will say that I ran into an issue upon trying to upgrade my weapon where once I bought an upgrade, the ship wouldn't fire any longer. Not sure if it was a mistake I made or if it was a bug, but I figure it would be best to bring it up here. Great work!

i did manage to find all 5 artifacts! faster paced gameplay with more enemies or slow pace gameplay (current) with bigger enemies could make it more fun and tactful. nice work!

I enjoyed this. Took a bit longer than expected to ramp up, and as some other people have said it would have been nice to have some more varied options for progression.

I feel like the ship movement/turning was a bit too slow, maybe could have been another option for upgrades.

Interesting concept and probably the longest I have spent playing a game this jam so well done!

Nice gameplay loop with the combat & the upgrades!
