In general, the idea is cool, but it's not as interesting to play as it could be. I often get lost, and a mini-map would be very helpful. I would also make the projectile improve immediately after finding the first lizard, so that the player understands that they are not just searching for them.

@mrv Hey thanks for the feedback. Yeah we thought about the minimap part but did not have time to implement it and adjust the pacing of the game. Regarding the improvement, they do immediatly upgrade but some lizzards are less notable than others since they just give stat adjustments ^^

The graphics are very very cute :) I do like the design of the lizards and how they follow you along, when you have collected them :) I do agree in what @mrv said, it is very easy to get lost. At some point I noticed a pattern where the lizards can be found, but after collecting some you barely remember how deep you went and where you exactly are and have been.

Other than that I do like the consistent graphics and the humor behind it, rats with guns, wizard lizard and so on. Great entry!

Great game. Nice pixel art. The bonsai-like transitions between levels aren't entirely obvious. And the final goal isn't clear. I assembled a squad of five lizards and decided that was enough.

Great style! It’s a bit hard to find your way around, though — everything looks so similar, and it’s hard to feel any progress.

Very nice :lizard: As others mentioned, there could be some ways to display information like a popup when you get a red lizard sawing "+FIRE CHANCE", depth indicator and maybe how many geckos are in the level? I didn't find any until the 3rd layer and thought they weren't spawning, and the rat's bullets could be larger, but I'm just nitpicking at this point XD
This is a cool idea for a roguelike and fits the theme well. Good job team :D

The level change should give a bit more feedback, at first i thought i teleported or glitched when I walked into the tree thingy. Like others said, navigation was a challenge, though I did appreciate the gameplay.
Also - why would I ever want to hurt myself, lmao

@denilseven thanks for the feedback ^^ Yeah like so many things in a gamejam that was planned but scrapped because of time sadly :( The lizards should spawn on every level though with something like 2-3 in the first one and then rising with depth. I think it maxes out at layer 20 or something.

@poshdan Yeah the level change is a little unclear thats why we put it on the page aswell but yeah. The hurt yourself was a debug thing we decided to leave in in case you get stuck and want to kill yourself for the easter egg in the main menu XD

The little lizards are really cute. I collected three and couldn't find a way past them, but overall, it's pretty good. The controls are responsive, the graphics are cute. Good job.

The art style is incredible! The use of pixel art created a perfect mood for the game.

The soundtrack and sound effects are top-notch. They really immersed me in the experience. Well done!

Nice and easy game even for such a crab-handed person like me, thank you for such an experience! But I should say it's a bit too easy. Also it would be useful to see somewhere on screen which abilities I've collected so far. Thank you for pleasant game!

The graphics are cute, especially the little geckos! I think it would've been better if the dash wasn’t on the mouse button (though maybe it was just me who found it a bit inconvenient)

@100th-coin Thanks for playing our game ^^ yeah it still has some problems since we didnt get to playtest it very much. The exit to the next level is not that obvious and like you said the enemies are cheeseable and the spawns are a little off. I dont know why it crashed though I didnt encounter that one yet. Maybe I will try to fix it for the itch.io upload but I dont know if I will have the time for it in the next weeks :(
